Description
The Melwood Beer Company opened its doors in March 2013 by husband and wife duo John & Julie Marsden. We are having one, huge adventure!

We are based in the heart of Knowsley Park in the old Kennels that once housed Lord Derby’s gundogs.

28/2/2020. Cask at the Leicester Beer Festival 2020. Pours clear pale gold with a bubbly white head. Aroma of hops, pastry, fruit, straw and cashew nuts. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft to flat carbonation.

Cask sample courtesy of Grumbo from Peterborough beer festival 2019, cheers Graham! Golden amber colour, bubbly white head and aroma of woody vegetal notes. Taste is sweetish, grainy, malt, with woody, earthy, spicy bitterness. Medum bodied, soft carbonation, tangy twiggy bitter finish. OK

23/8/2019. Cask at the 42nd Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of dank hops, grain, citrus and grass. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

23/8/2019. Cask at the 42nd Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear pale amber with a bubbly/creamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, hops, caramel, flowers and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice bitterness to finish. Decent drop.

28/2/2019. From cask at the 2019 Liverpool Beer Festival, courtesy of Danlo, cheers Ed! Pours pale amber with a bubbly just off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, malt, caramel, biscuit and light spicy notes. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. Nice bitterness to finish. Pretty good.

20/2/2019. Cask at the 20th Chelmsford Winter Beer and Cider Festival. Pours cloudy dull golden amber with a lasting bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, pineapple, tropical fruit and citrus. Moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Tropical finish with nice lasting bitterness.
