330ml Bottle - Brown in colour with a slight haze. Fruity and spicy aroma with hints of Christmas cake, raisins, caramel and malt. Spicy, fruity and slightly tangy taste with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins and caramel. The spice is evident in the aroma and the taste, but isnโt overwhelming. The finish is fruity and spicy with a slight sweetness. Enjoyable and rather easy to drink.

Cask handpull at The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool. Wow, I am so surprised that I havenโt rated this before. More porter than smoke. But good chewy malts and subtle smoke aroma and flavour. Quite a lot of choc on aroma. Would have stayed for a second pint but the pissed up Liverpool fan sat opposite was starting to scare me. And this was just after midday when the match was starting at 4pm. Jesus.

Cask,Balitc Fleet,Liverpool. Dense dark brown with a thin tan cuff.Nose roasty with some sweetness and the damson nicely evident.Quite full and rich.More roastiness in the flavour with well balanced fruit and bitter dark chocolate notes. Dry lingering bitter finish.Tasty stuff.

Cask @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009. An opaque brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has strong notes of spices - especially cardemomme, but also lighter notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of spices - again primarily cardemomme and medium notes of caramel and malt. A bit too spicy for my liking.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small longlasting off-white head. Has a roasted malt smooth smoky aroma. Sweetish roasted malty smoky flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a sweetish roasted malty finish.

(Cask, Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool, 20 July 2009) Golden yellow colour with lasting, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with lemon and grassy hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of lemon peel, grassy hops in the finish. Rather light body, balanced sweetness and a generous, fresh bitterness. Quite enjoyable.

(Cask at Baltic Fleet, Liverpool, 19 July 2009) Golden colour with frothy, lasting, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with lemon and freshly cut grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of lemon, citrus peel and grassy hops in a nicely balanced finish. Fairly light body, balanced sweetness. Nice hop character, but more aroma than bitterness. Nice beer.
