Can from Beer52. Pours black with decent tanned top. Sweet aroma with chocolate, toffee galore, hint of honeycomb. Taste has a salty umami note with plenty of toffee, some chocolate. Finish has a drying salted note with a continuing sweetness. Balance is a bit off with this one although it grew on me.

Can from Beer52 at 5%. Pours dark brown/near black with small consistent beige to tanned top. Nice aroma with roasted malt, coffee, biscuit, chocolate, sweet hints. Very moreish in the taste with bitter coffee, chocolate, biscuit, light vanilla sweetness and not sickly like some beers. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi-dry. Excellent.

Can from House of Trembling Madness, online. Hazy orange-gold with small white head Aroma sweet doughy malts, citrus, cream, coconut, stone fruits, some herbs. Taste has similar notes although the coconut, herbs and citrus are in the forefront with a sweet malt background. Light bodied, moderate carbonation. A very good single hop session pale.

440ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull. Poured almost black in colour with a thin off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, ashtray. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, with a roasty, ashtray, light chocolate, dry chilli spice, liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. A gentle nod of chilli they said?? It was more than a alittle overpowering.
