Cans, undated, drunk 5/18 and 5/20/17.
Surprisingly clear, sunny-blonde body shows little carbonation and a small, foamy white head that recedes to chunky lacing.
Onions and garlic with a backing of saccharine-like sweetness and a bit of dough. Great! Odd vegetal notes, stale biscuit and limp hops. What the hell?
Severely undercarbonated (both cans from different 4 packs) and very loose and watery. Undermalted, as well, exposing husky grain and too much biscuit character. Bitter vegetal and maybe even phenolic character? Onions and garlic with light table sugar-like maltiness. Light doughiness, as well, despite seemingly nothing in solution. Wow, they’ve really managed to collect almost all the bad qualities you can get in a beer.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a golden yellow color with a two and a half fingers worth of white foamy head that must have held for a good minute before dissipating at all. Once it did, the lace was sticky and in some rings.
The aroma had some danky sweet onion, white grapes, sweet freshly cut grass, super light hints of tropical fruit juices and a sly content of floral hop quality underneath.
The flavor took all of those aromatics to meld sweetly and form a good stance bearing the bitterness trying to come in for a decent balance. Did it? Well, honestly, the bitterness seemed to stiffen up and stay in the background for the most part. Aftertaste was the white grape, grass and sweet onion. Finish was oily sticky smooth and sweet.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine as well. Some oily texture, but wasnt distracting.
Overall, this was a bit of a surprise as I wasnt expecting this to be this good. Every now and again, Foolproof does that. Probably why I keep giving them a chance every so often.
