This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a slim finger’s worth of tan head. Stringy lacing clings and then slides into the beer at an adequate pace.
The smell had some roasted peanut blending with a subtle roasty coffee bean underneath.
The taste was dry and roasty with a subtle sweetness from the roasted peanut. There’s a light roasty peanut to coffee aftertaste leading into the finish.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a nice sessionable feel about it. Carbonation felt right for a porter but with the roasty portion and peanut there’s a certain dryness clinging to my tongue.
Overall, not sure why but I finally finished the rest of them off and to me, I find that its more peanut than peanut butter. Still, a nice offering from Foolproof that I would have again.

Intrigued enough by the peanut butter version of this, I figured I better try the regular version.
This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a two finger off white to tan foamy head that rose above the glass in a rocky sort of way. It dissipated within about a minute. Light lacing was in and around the glass.
The smell sounded off with a subtle roast breaking through a robust cocoa flavor. Light bitter coffee bean melds into the aroma.
The taste moderately lingered between roasty coffee and cocoa beans.
On the palate, this one has a nice medium bodied feel letting the robust lay it down cold on my tongue.
Overall, I’d say this was a good porter that I would have again.

Can. Hazy deep gold with a frothy white head. Light aroma of toasted grain, raw grain and resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of caramel, floral hops and raw grain. Light on the hops for an "aggressively hopped American IPA."

Keg pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is opaque black pour, beige ring of head, decent lacing. Aroma is roasted malt. Taste is a little smoky, with some bitterness, and sweet chocolate. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, finish is nice mix of balanced bitter and sweet. Overall, solid porter all around. Generally, I like a porter to have a little heavier body/texture, but there is something nice about having a full flavored beer that isn’t quite as heavy.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a burnt to ruddy orange brown color with a soft one finger white foamy head that dissipated within appropriately. A light rim of white lacing glazes around the glass nicely.
The smell starts off with a delicate toast, toffee and caramel malts running into a light earthy spice. I don’t mind it for me but its a little different.
The taste was moderately earthy sweet with the spice coming in trying to make an effort to balance. It gets a little grassy in the aftertaste and almost tobacco-like leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fine for the style and for me. That tobacco-like substance along with the earthiness makes up the feel along my tongue.
Overall, its not a bad Oktoberfest, just a bit different, pretty sure I could have this again.
