Hazy dark amber color with red shades; creamy head. Nice aroma and flavor of caramel and chocolate, with a creamy touch and correct bitterness; maybe the final is too weak; but overall it’sa pleasant beer.

Dark mahogany color. Light caramel aroma, some dark caramel and chocolate malt flavor, correct bitterness. Better than the similar Rote Erik, but boring.

Blond color. Very nice malt and hay aroma. Normal flavor, some malt, some hay more than the average, correct bitterness.

Deep blond color. Light cereals aroma. Ordinary flavor, strong bitterness, maybe too much. Unbalanced, unimpressive.

Draught, 4.8% at the brewpub. Weak fruity aroma. Clear dark red chestnut colour. Big stable tan head. The flavour starts off roasted, but quickly turns fruity. The finish is also fruity and roasted. Easily drinkable, quite light body.

Draught, 4.8% at the brewpub. Clear very dark brown colour. Big stable tan head. The flavour is nicely roasted, slightly vinous note. Seems to have a little plastic note. Good light mouthfeel and light carbonation. The plastic makes it less than great.

Draught, 4.8% at the brewpub. Sweetish, very flowery aroma. Clear golden colour. Nice big stable white head. Good flowery hop flavour, quite distinct. Distinct bitterness, slightly rough. Hint of wet rag, but hidden by the more suitable flavours. 7 3 6 3 16

(1000ml swing top bottle) Slightly hazy dark amber to brown colour with a mid-sized beige head. Dusty and slightly sweet dark malty and toasty aroma with toffee. Bitter flavour, light to medium body, low carbonation. Quite dry toastmalty and yeasty taste with caramel and toffee; slightly hopped, light bitter and short finish. Nothing special.

(1000ml swing top bottle) Hazy dark amber coloured with a foamy off-white layer. Initially stenchy rotten vegetable aroma that disappears after a few minutes and the aroma becomes slightly sweet with dark and toasted malts, ashy with hints of liquorice and sourdough. Sweet and slightly sour flavour, light to medium body, low carbonation. Moderately sweet taste of dark malts with a shy fruity note of dried fruits; slim, minimal bitter and malty finish. Definitely not a quaffable brew.
