Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Turns out my first beer from this brewery will be the last now they have ceased trading. Pours a murky light amber with thin bath bubbly top. I enjoyed this one - had a stone fruit, leafy and spicy quality to it. Medium bodied, semi drying, prickly. Good stuff.

ABV: 5.5%. Murky matt medium orange yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate to heavy hoppy - fruity, fruity hops, tart, dragon fruit, passion fruit, guava. Flavor is moderate sweet and acidic with a long duration, tart, guava, dragon fruit - passion fruit, pale malt - sweet malt, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20191011]

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee - chocolate, banana, dark malt, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, banana, coffee, dark malt, roasted, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20191008]

440ml can. Pours jet black with a small head. Aroma is boozy dark chocolate and spicy wood. Taste has dark chocolate to start with a yeasty, boozy woody finish.

Can thanks to AshtonMcCobb. Pours opaque yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of light citrus and orchard fruits. Taste is light malt, more citrus. Creamy texture, light bitter finish.

Can from Appellation Wines, BBD 01/03/23. Appearance - murky yellow to orange. Creamy white head. Nose - quince jelly, ripe pear and rose water. Taste - apple, marmalade shred, pine and cakey. Palate - light bodied, the middle is initially creamy and the finish has roasty, dry. Overall - lovely beer. Shame these guys are gone, I was a fan. The palate is quite different from the nose on this one.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours almost black with a small cream head. The aroma has coffee and malts. In the mouth there’s a whole loaf of flavours that typify dark beers – roasted malts, treacle, liquorice, dark fruits, cola and hints of chocolate. Some bitterness in the finish. This is decent.
