Pours a hazy orange from a can. Pine, pome fruit aroma and flavor, overly sweet. Okay beer.

Pint at Federal Jack's or whatever the hell this is, dark gold or orange with some soapy white head. Nose has malt and some grass, lightly catty. Mild though. Flavors of malt and soap and grass. The Amarillo is really washed out. There is just an acid character that hits the teeth. Dry and bitter finish. Really nondescript. 5 3 5 3 10

Pint at Federal Jacks or whatever, pours a clear amber, ring of white head. Nose has grist and malt and black tea, some orange. Flavor has orange then all malt and grist. Really not a pale ale at all. Finishes a bit flabby with some decent carbonation that helped pick it up.

Can from Trader Joe's in Davis, CA. Pours translucent gold with a large white head. Aroma of citrus - like mild orange. Approaching med body. Flavor is mild orange for me with something light I can't place. Like thin pine flavor. Pretty dry. Lightly bitter. Yeast note in the finish. Very quaffable. Verging on sessionable.

Pint can from Trader Joe's Charlottesvile, 10/24/20. Hazy yellow, lots of visible carb thin fizzy white head, fair retention. Aroma of grapefruit, stone fruit. Taste is tea leaves, grapefruit. Almost like a hoppy sweet tea. Thin, moderate bitterness. Meh.

Some pine and some citrus peel. Pours orange amber with ok head. Not s lot of depth here but then again it's a Brut IPA. Go figure. Can.

Super crisp, pure golden, orange and peach coloured body with a two to three centimetre tall, soapy, large-bubbled head that fades quickly and leaves a very ugly lace on top. Aroma of grass, hay, perfume, candy, caster sugar and a touch of light apricots and peaches although they are muted. Light-bodied; Dry, grassy and perfumey hop flavours show at first with a very mild, slightly biscuity malt component that even has some wheat, mainly due to how mild and unsupported the malts are, but the dry, very grassy hops do get through at the end, but have no complexity and share no bitterness. Aftertaste shows dry malts, some very soft apricot fruitiness and a slightly crisp, very perfumey hop bite that isn't bitter, just very dry. Overall, I wasn't expecting much from this (given other KBC/Trader Joe options from them), but this was simply poor. Not good, not akin to the style, very watery and weak, but at least it wasn't offensive, pungent or bad - it was just bland, weak and without character. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Washington (West End), D.C. on 23-August-2020 for US$2,00 sampled at my house here in Washington on 04-September-2020.
