Hazy paleish gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has modest fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, mildly sweet. Mild skunk and light floral sweetness. Mellow pine and citrus, touches of lime and lemon. Clean and with some airy NZ character, pretty drinkable.

On tap at The Grain Barge, Bristol, Saturday 23rd April 2016 I was about to eat so didn’t really have time for extensive notes, however just adding this rate now I was confused as I am sure they had this down as Tempest brewery but no amount of searching can find it under Tempest and this looks the most likely candidate. Poured hazy gold, there is a decent buzzy bitterness, fruity and that is as far as my notes go. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Keg at The Small Bar, Bristol, Saturday 23rd April 2016 Warm gold with a touch of haziness and a little skim of white across the top. Furry dry rub across the roof of the mouth, plenty of citrus, nice. It’s a good beer, but is it as good as Loz’s Axe Edge (nope!) A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Keg at the six degrees north, Aberdeen. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, resin. Taste is bitter, pithy. Dry finish.

Keg at BD Clerko, 08/04/16. Pitch black with a decent dirty tan covering. Nose is rich roast, light peppery spice, charr, coffee. Taste comprises bitter roast, chocolate, molasses, light spice, hint of mint leaf. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light warming alcohol in the close. Decent imply.

Tap@Brewdog Clerkenwell, London - black pour with beige head. Roasted and sweet malty aroma and taste with some cocoa, very light note of basil, roasted into the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Brewdog clerko. During the tap takeover. Opaque pitch black coloured pour with a fading light tan head. Aroma is interesting black malts, some veg, little soy, burnt toffee apple, hints of Belgian yeast. Flavour is composed of semi sweet dark roast, rich dark choc, , some burnt toast, lingering bitter black roast. Some alcohol warmth. Palate is medium full, quite sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation. Little harsh bitter roast in the finish.

Keg at BrewDog Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear, dark brown with a frothy tan head. The nose has hearty toast, chocolate, burnt herbs, light ash. Medium sweet flavour with more chocolate character, roast, mild char, faint mint, scorched earth, dried berries. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, somewhat sticky-sweet, baking cocoa, dark fruits. Good stuff.
