Bottle (2013) from the Gloucester Road Waitrose. Pours hazy light gold. Aroma seems apple with a slght tart/sour aspect. Near med body. There seems to be some tart skin, but it’s reasonably sugary. Yet still dry some how. Good drink.

Bottle from the Gloucester Road Waitrose. Pours dark gold with a slight white head. Aroma is spicy/floral. Near med body. Flavor is a little spicy, but the malt isn’t very tasty. Not a fan.

Bottle at home, from Waitrose Windsor, 15/08/15. Clear golden topped with a modicum of white bubbles, whose obtuse actions in terms of staying to make friends, belied the quality of this cider and left me somewhat less than sanguine upon the initial pour. Nose was crisp apple orchard, straw, light balsa wood and dung. Taste comprised pork crackling, apple xauce, straw, earthy, apple core, light wood, vanilla. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, drying crisp close with apple pie licks. I was not sure I would become friends with this cider when it all started but when an alligator demands your pajamas, all you can do is acquiesce. Decent.

50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell. 2013 Vintage A pale hazy pour, perfectly still; slightly woody aroma; dry with a tart apple taste and an almost buttery body; with some sweetness and vanilla towards the finish. Satisfying, and exactly as described on the label - cloudy, still and dry.

50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell.2013 Vintage A really pale wine-like colour, with lots of gas to start, but settling back quickly to a flat headless state with very light carbonation; floral aroma; clean and crisp in the mouth with a floral taste, slightly acidic and with some initial sweetness before a drying finish. A refreshing summery cider that’s probably best with food so that the acidity is muted.

500ml bottle from Tesco. Pours clear gold with a dusty fruit orchard aroma. Ripened apple and perry pear taste. On the sweet side but quite clean and balanced. Not too much going on really but still rather pleasant and strong-tasting to have on a summery evening in the park.
