Attractive glowing amber colour. Aroma and initial taste is unpleasant - it's medicinal with an oddly floral soapiness, although you do also get some nice clove and toffee. However, perseverance pays off and after a little while the whole soapy medicine thing wears off and you're left with a very smooth drink, with cloves, cinnamon, toffee and vanilla and just a background hint of baked apple. It's obviously a sweet cider but avoids being oversweet or sticky. It made a pretty decent dessert cider actually. I am surprised and disappointed that it didn't have any of Heston's usual trickery though.

Bottle at home, 23/02/19. Light brown with a decent off white head. Nose is stewed fruits, brown bread, hint of red berry, biscuit. Taste comprises fruit slice, dried fruits, malt forward, grains, biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable number or at least the best of a bad bunch.

Bottle at home, 23/02/19. Golden blonde with a well presented off white covering. Nose is grassy, modest citric peel, toasted grains, airy malts. Taste comprises modest fruit notes, straw, hint of orange, pale malts, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Mediocre stuff.

Bottle at home, 23/02/19. Clear golden with a decent white head. Nose carries mellow fruit esters, straw ,grains, faint lemon drizzle. Taste comprises faded fruits, grass, pale malts, crackers, touch of bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Low end golden twigster. I'm a little surprised Waitrose put their name to tosh like this !

Bottle from their West Byfleet branch. Fruity slightly vinous and malty aroma. Light chestnut. Thin creamy off-white head. Light bitter and malty but the sweet nuttiness is what first comes through. Medium bodied. Verging on creamy. Average carbonation. Long sickly finish. It's alright just a tad too sweet for me.

Bottle at home from Waitrose Canary Wharf. A pale petrol coloured pour with some effervescence. roma is tangy woody pear, some bile, spritzy fruit. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody pear, bark, harsh solvent alcohol, bitter bark finish. Headache inducing alcohol. It tastes stronger than 8%. Palate is semi sweet, tangy, highish carbonation. Harsh solvent alcohol.

Bottle from the Waitrose at Gloucester Rd. Pours clear, bright copper with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, slightly roasty malt. Med body. Flavor is sweet, slightly roasty malt, but there’s some floral, some fruit, and particularly I’m picking up something like plum. Drier than not. Moderately bitter. Individual flavors are light, but together the sum is impressive. Not a 100 ale, but a nice, flavorful work-a-day drink. Underrated IMHO.
