Lambic in a box from Koelschip Yard, Glasgow. Vinous purple red and a little clear with almost no head. Tart with notes of red wine and balsamic vinegar. Sour taste with a big grape sweetness. Slightly more funk in the finish. Light body with no carbonation. A joy to try.

Draught from BrewDog Glasgow. Light to mid-gold and hazy with an uneven white head. Satsuma, some tropical fruit, a little dank on the nose. Clean taste, sweet but never overly so followed by an insistent but gentle bitterness. Light-ish body with very little carbonation. This is very good all in all.

Handpull cask at the Three Judges, Glasgow. Light gold and clear with a small off-white head. Grassy aroma, some light citrus and stone fruit. Sweet taste, some marmalade notes, more grassy character. Then some bitterness right at the finish. Not a great beer but enough character to enjoy it.

This pub, as far as I can tell, has nothing to do with that ubiquitous shite lager. It's a decent and unassuming sports pub. Watching Ross County v Hamilton. The beer, well kudos for choice of seven cask beers but they are mostly nationals (London Pride and such), but there's one each from Gipsy Hill and Stewart so not all is lost. A few decent whiskies available. Honestly it's not a beer ticker's pub but I liked it.

Handpull cask at Tennent's, Byres Road, Glasgow. Golden amber and clear with a small even off-white head. Flowery, perfumed Hop aroma. Sweet taste with more floral hop but then there's an intensely unlikeable bitterness, astringent and uncompromising, throughout most of the sip. Light to medium body, almost no carbonation. Not great.

Innis & Gunn Beer isn't the best on the planet but I remember liking their Edinburgh taproom well enough. This taproom, near Hillhead subway Station and the Hunterian museum, is grubby and well-attended with a small bar in the back. It isn't so exciting with six Innis & Gunn beers (I think I'd had them all) with seven guests, mostly easily available but two Ossiansand a Campervan make up for that. Another 'can be missed' but completionists may wish to try it out.

Arts centre bar converted from a church. A couple of cask ales plus various basic keg such as Drygate's Kelvin. A number of whiskies are avilable so worth checking to see with your own eyes as the menu is far from accurate. Not a bad place to hang for a short while but can be missed, especially from a beer perspective.

Draught keg at Òran Mór, Glasgow. Light to mid-gold, clear with a small uneven film of white head. Clean grainy, malty aroma, decent if uninteresting.Taste is grain, some metal. Sweet without being saccharin and a bit rounded at the end. Lighter body with heavy-ish carbonation. Not bad but pretty basic.
