Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Dark reddish brown and mostly opaque with a small beige head. Vinous aroma, balsamic vinegar, some soy sauce. Taste is full, incredibly sour, vinegar, red grape, cranberry. Meaty. This is a proper sour that tastes its strength. Soy and vinaigrette in the finish. Full body with soft to medium carbonation. My Lord.

Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Very dark brown, almost black, almost opaque with a small layer of buff/khaki head. Smells of earth, light smoke, mushroom. Taste is surprisingly sweet with hints of liquorice, dialled-back treacle, black malts. Much less of the smoky earthy notes in the aroma. Lighter body than the ABV would suggest, fairly heavy carbonation. Great stuff.

Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Light to mid-gold, a little hazy with visible carbonation. The head is white, spotty, small, uneven. Aroma is grassy and herbal, more lemon balm than lemon drop with strong thyme. Taste is sweet with a savoury herbal character, touch of salt. Wow, there is so much going on here. Light peppery notes on the finish. Full body for the ABV with massive carbonation. Another wonderfully creative beer, absolutely delicious and like nothing I've ever tried.

Handpull cask at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Mid-brown, a little translucent with a dissipating khaki head. Grassy notes in the aroma, some sweet orchard and stone fruits, pine, white pepper. Sweet taste, light malts, full fruity character. Light texture, which has served as the only reminder that this is 3.2%. Soft carbonation. An amazing and creative beer.

440ml can bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Lightish pink aroma, a little bit of haze with a spotty white head. Tart raspberry with a nice note of vanilla in the aroma. Berry tartness in the taste as well but there is a scrumptious malt base. Really nicely balanced. Slightly more sour in the finish. Moderate to heavy carbonation. Very simple and very good.

12 ounce can bought as part of a delivery from the Beers of America and drunk at home. Golden syrup colour, clear with an initially large but mostly dissipating off-white head. Butterscotch, white chocolate, vanilla in the aroma. Sweet taste, soft caramel, light notes of tangerine peel. The finish is incredibly bitter but it works for this beer. Medium body, very heavy carbonation. I am not usually a fan of white stouts but this is lush.

12 ounce can bought as part of a delivery from Beers of America and drunk at home. Light apple aroma, maybe the smell of linen (a quilt?) and vegetable scraps. Sweet taste with a bt of tartness that never gets going. A full apple flavour, but not one that excites overmuch. Slightly tangy finish, that's nice. Light body with a hint of carbonation. A strong cider that belies its strength. Okay.

330ml bottle bought from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Brownish gold and clear with a quickly dissipating off-white head leaving a small ring. Light barnyards funk, earth tones. Caramel in the sweet taste, a touch of sour funk, harsh saccharine finish and aftertaste. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Dull and weird, not very bretty, but also sort of refreshing.

12 ounce can bought as part of a delivery from Beers of America, Banbury. Drunk at home. Light yellow gold and a little hazy with a large white head. Lemon zest, white grapefruit, some powdered lime candy on the nose. Sweet, some willowy malt notes with strong lime, grapefruit and a little bit of elderflower. Bitterness in the finish. Body holds up well enough, soft to medium carbonation. Decent.
