US pint bought as part of a delivery from Bwers of America and drunk at home. Light to midgold, mostly clear with a small ring of white head. Honey, golden sponge cake, light vanilla on the nose. Sweet taste, more honey, light bready notes, sweet spice. Some astringency on the finish. Medium to heavy carbonation. Pretty basic stuff but not bas.

Keg draught at North Laine brewpub, Brighton. Light yellow, hazy with a small ring of white head. Sweet lemon sugar aroma, not much else. Taste is also sweet with a sour hard citrus twist. Light body with extremely heavy carbonation. Very one-dimensional and far too sweet but refreshing on a sunny day.

This is a neat little place. I think the original pub is called the Hampton but it has been reworked into a craft beer & Indian food joint called 'Easy Tiger'. Only one cask but 12 keg, some of which is macro but probably 8 or 9 are certainly worthy. A lot of beers available from local breweries such as Only With Love, Beak, Loud Shirt. Styles and ABVs vary as well, so you can get your strong beers or keep it sessionable.

Keg draught at the Hare & Hounds, Brighton. Fairly light gold and hazy with a small ring of white head and fair lacing. Apricot and white grapefruit in the aroma with some malt giving more character. Sweet taste, the fruity hop doesn't run away with it, it's hot a good biscuity malt backbone. Medium body with heavy carbonation. A bit generic but better than most 'generic' pales. A lot more character here.

Draught keg at the taproom, Brighton. Light gold, clear with visible carbonation and a small white head. Grainy aroma, strong grassy notes and a hint of malt. Taste is sweet but not too much so with light bitterness in the finish. Light body with quite heavy carbonation. Great malt bill on this Helles. A cut above most.

Hard to get a sense of this place. When I came in, I thought for a moment that I'd walked into a barbershop (maybe that was the pub's former purpose?) although the many beers and ciders on the bar pilot me right. There are about 8 casks on gravity, plus about 4 bag in the box ciders and a small row of craft keg. Nothing overly hard to find - 360°, Burning Sky, Gun - but thus is a godsend to anyone looking to bump up local ratings. If you happen to find yourself in Shoreham for whatever reason, you may wish to try thus establishment.

Brilliant little pub (and I do mean lottle) just off the High Street. Charming and very popular. Only three gravity cask beers, from Summer Lightning, Iron Pier and Trig, plus two on keg. A brilliant if small bottle selection including some Kernel, Arbor, Wiper & True. Small low/no selection. Pretty reasonable especially when compared to nearby Brighton/Hove. May shut on occasional days so you may wish to call ahead.
