Handpull cask at the Morgan, Great Malvern. Light-ish gold, clear with a film of white head and good lacing. Deep bready notes on the nose with comparatively bright hop resulting in some overripe citrus and floral notes. The initial sweet taste leaves quickly, leaving a full bitterness in the mouth. The body is light and maybe a little bit oily, with next to zero carbonation. Not bad.

Handpull cask at the White Lion Hotel, Upton upon Severn. Dark amber, clear, no head. Earthy dark caramel in the aroma. Cherry syrup, bonfire toffee. Very sweet taste, more toffee, bitter finish. Thin body, little carbonation. A bit weird and not particularly satisfying.

Wadworth pub just off the main drag. Black and white tourist honeypot pub. Friendly and functional while keeping a great pub atmosphere. Four cask - two Wadworth and one Folly Road (Wadworth's 'craft' arm) plus Butty Bach - with a few basic kegs from Folly Road (Helles, a stout, a pale). Personally I've not overly mad about Wadworth but the beer here is very well kept and brings out the best in the beer. So this is a good place to try things.

Handpull cask at the White Lion, Upton upon Severn. Light gold and clear with a ring of white head Grainy aroma, some grassy character. Sweet with a fry English hop hitternesa in the finish. Hint of clotted cream. Medicinal finish. OK.
