2005 vintage from trade. I traded for a bunch of Weyerbachers long time ago, and this is the first one I've opened in a long time. It's to make up for being required to spend time with my family instead of going to FoBAB 2019. The 2005 label only mentions oak barrel aging, but right under the cap is a big snootful of bourbon and vanillin. Plenty of carbonation in this one. In fact the tan foam stays pretty stiff until my lips touch it. Solid black beer color beneath it. After 14 years, the taste is still quite nice. Plenty of roasty malt, a bit of cherry cola taste, backed by coffee and molasses. Yes, there's still some sweetness to it, but the malt tells it to keep its mouth shut. Nothing here has gone off. Just a fine imperial stout that's picked up a good load of bourbon barrel taste and has not let go over all this time.

Draft at the source. Amber-ish body under a pillowy head. The malts in the nose are like wheat toast with a bit of honey. Taste brings up the subtle spiciness of rye malt, as described. With Goldfinger's usual sharp European hop profile. It is clichéd to say this, but this is indeed easy drinking: while still being quite hearty when it's cold.

Draft at Orange and Brew. Pours a slightly hazy gold color under a respectably frothy head that dwindles to leave some lace around the sides. The nose suggests some Belgian type malts, maybe some spelt and wheat. Taste seems to suggest lychees from hops? Not a typical taste. Light maltiness and still some hop bitterness. Just a little farmhouse funk.

2017 bottle from review package. Sweet sugar smell right under the cap. Light brown ale beer, with some haze, under a foamy tan head. Sweet nose fades a bit once it's in the glass. Taste brings back the sweetness, and some slightly oxidized malt. There's still a bit of hop sharpness to it. Guess I'll have to get the latest one to see how it compares fresh.
