Pinkish copper pour under a foamy head. White nose with a little bit of flower to it. Taste is kind of a mild, light beer with slight fruit, and very little hop to offset it. Rather light mouth feel, which is probably as intended. Picks up a little strawberry tartness a bit further in. I guess a just expect a little "more" from a special occasion beer.

2002 bottle, cellared long ago. Though not barrel-aged, it has a nice bourbony smell, with cherry cordial on the side. Solid black pour, very thin ring of foam at the edge. After the thick, warming smell, the taste is a bit thin. Still nice, but not a match to the nose. A bit flat after 23 years, but still some chocolate roast, no excess roastiness.

I have just visited this place on its last day of operation, March 1, 2026. Great atmosphere. I only had one taco, but it was delicious.

Amber brown color in the taster, with a fine layer of foam. The nose is balanced between pom and malt, to a nice effect. Really nice taste continues that combo of strongly flavored fruit and amber malts. Then a slight edge of chocolate pops through. A really nice choice of adjunct.
