Dark copper with a frothy, white head. Woodsmoke aroma, apple butter, and a touch herbal. Taste is mildly bitter with a hint of peppery spice. Rich, sweet, caramel body just underneath. Finishes mildly watery with lingering woodsmoke. Easygoing, unexpectedly refreshing. Good one.

Orange-brown and murky with a foaming head. Aroma of caramel, banana, pie-crust and spices. Taste is mildly bitter over a sweet base. Finishes faintly tart. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, decent chewiness. Not bad.

Gold with a foaming white head of modest duration. Aroma of dough and apple vinegar. Taste is faintly bitter up front, then finishes sweet with lots of buttered white bread on the tongue. Body to the light side of medium, moderate carbonation, faintly watery texture. Drinkable but not much fun.

Beer thanks to Jake. Gold with a frothy, white head. Mildly grassy aroma with hints of peaches and white wine. Taste is moderate bitter with both grainy and mildly citric undertones, finishing much the same. Medium bodied, smooth, mild carbonation. Above average pilsener. Nice.

Gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma of lime, apricot and apple jelly over a slightly dank undertone. Taste is resin bitter and sharp with very faint tartness. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry, a touch chalky. Not bad.

Dark copper with fizzy head. Aroma of grains, red currant jam, and caramel. Taste is bitter to bittersweet—ruined though by a fizzing, over-carbonated palate that’s too aggressive for the style, making further impressions futile. Medium bodied, mildly watery texture, to the dry side. Disappointing.
