Can drunk of an evening in Troya on the balcony day bed, a few hundred meters from its purchase. Dark brown with moderate head. Mildly toasted grainy nose, relatively malty-sweet but not overbearing. Decent earthy-hop finish that doesn't quite balance that sweetness. Not too exciting but there's nothing major wrong with it. Pretty much the opposite of this particular beach town (sorry, sunburned Brits).

Bottle from a supermarket. Drunk on the balcony of our room in Hotel Colon Rambla. Malty, a bit too sweet, not great flavors - a bit artificial. Sorry Heineken Group, but... bleah.

Drunk on Tenerife. Decent light beer, medium body for the style, actually pretty tasty and inoffensive. Could definitely drink a lot of this at the beach!

Bottle I bought several years ago. Dark brown, moderate head. After 9 years aging: raisiny nose, very plummy. Flavor is thick and oxidized but impressive in its clout, a bit like Madeira or sherry. Super smooth, mellow bitterness. Impressed it held up so well!

Can from Higgins brewery, drunk after having an excellent spicy fry up of random stuff from the fridge. Yellow hazy, big creamy sea foam head. Cotton candy tropical fruit nose, passion fruit and the like. Tropical fruit and light pine come through on the tongue, i guess pink dragonfruit is my imagination doing the talking due to the Collab name. Mid body, nice hops, smooth balance - good one!

Bottle from the brewery Webshop, drunk at home after checking out my new 2x12 DV guitar cab (sounds heavenly!). Reddish amber, light haze, tall head, present full aroma of smoke - similar to the regular Märzen but milder with less dark roast. Actually it reminds me even more of Weichsel, might be a close relative with different smoke. Flavor is rounded and full bodied, mid-chewy, probably easier to drink a lot of this than the regular Märzen. The overall character is similar though, so of course I love it!

Lightly gold, tinge of haze, moderate but lacy head. Nose is grain, Belgian yeast, pretty mild. Slight banana flavor, wheat and light malt, pretty decent "Belgian lite" flavor. Moderate body and overall a tasty entry.

Drunk perhaps a bit late, in July, but the strong ones survive at least that long. Dark brown, moderate short lived tan head. Slightly sweet and roasty nose, pretty mild. Flavor is rather sweet, light molasses and brown sugar, slightly woody finish with mild hopping for this level of sweetness. Pretty traditional for the style I suppose.
