Stockport Beer Festival 2026 Beer#9. Not black, just very dark red, not that it matters as the rye part is the crux and is spot-on here in a palatably strong brew with a low-to-mid bitterness. Sweet dark-malty aroma and taste.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#122. From June 2025 from the Guernsey Co-op. Golden coloured and more hoppy than expected, with light passion fruit notes in both aroma and taste that are inoffensive. The beer is pleasant but not outstanding.

Stockport Beer Festival 2026 Beer#8. Hazy golden coloured pick-me-up styled brew. It has good orange fruit notes that excel in aftertaste, beyond its fizzy drinking texture.

A World Cup Of Beers#19. JAMAICA. An international brew with the football and onto a sugar heavy dark malty stout. It's not a regular one and the aforementioned makes proceedings quite rich rather than sweet, despite the prevalent sugariness, coupled with an obvious strength. Maybe a hint of marshmallow for this black coloured dainty bottle pour, which was drank whilst watching the last group game of the tournament where a convenient draw would send both through - Algeria vs Austria.

A World Cup Of Beers#18. DENMARK. An international brew with the football and turning to Scandinavian heritage for this clear golden coloured and well carbonated bottled beer, what if I'm being nice to it is at best humdrum. Sadly for me it's a 660ml large version as this is about as dire as it gets without being off or affected. The pilsner character here is light, with very little taste. It looks nice enough and the bubbles are attractive, constantly flying upwards as I contemplate another sip that I don't really want to take. Drank whilst watching the penultimate group to finish their games - this one between Columbia vs Portugal.

A World Cup Of Beers#17. ENGLAND. Staying in England, for England, with the most English of brews I could find on the supermarket shelf. A traditional brew, quite sweet in both aroma and taste - perhaps too much so, which takes prominence above its hop-malt balance, and there's a bitterness in there too. A beer not really revered, and although unexciting, it's not as bad as perhaps some make it out to be. The bottle-conditioning in this instance is fine, it's old-school authentic in design and easy enough - it's just there's so much better on the shelf nowadays. Amber in colour and drank whilst watching Panama vs England in their final group games.
