The current Flandrien Of The Year - an Belgian regional award for cyclists is Remco Evenepoel, who actually abandoned the Tour de France earlier today, so maybe he won't be winning it next time. But he's free tonight to enjoy this full-bodied crisp enough deeper golden Belgian ale. Pale malts provide a subtle but impressive enough flavour with hints of bubble-gum and wood.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#37. ST HELIER. Monday evening beer in the capital of Jersey. Hazy golden with a frothy head and feels stronger than its percentage might suggest, but still at session levels. Has sweetish tropical-fruit in both aroma and taste that lingers.

Pedestrian street traditional pub at the side of the market building. Along with the Lamplighter this is a real ale focussed public house with eight cask pumps in the soft furnished lower-lit venue. Along with the aforementioned it also carries quite a few regular ales from microbrewers, but the beers are kept well and there's hardly anywhere else on the island you'll find this much choice on wickets. If it's good weather the enclosed walled garden at the rear is quite a nice, and quiet place to sup.

On the hillside just above the road passing through the town, it's a small two building venue, an office area with a bottle shop, that also has a pouring area on the other side from the large Sidra barrels built into the wall, and a covered but open to the elements standard museum section on the opposite side of the raised terrace area. The hillside also has some old cider making objects scattered about it. Pay in the office, I got a personal tour of the museum being the only person there at the time, with samples offered at the end. Doesn't take too long and is reasonably priced considered you get to drink a couple of samples at the end.
