batch #3 bottled 01.2025 13.5%
1 pint 9fl oz bottle from kihoskh
Initial impression is a lot of woody notes, glue and some funk. then i notice the mint, which is a somewhat unusual note in a stout, works okay, then strong tasteless alc. like vodka perhaps, then chocolate and some roasted malts and a tiny bit of dark caramel. The impression is high-abv boozy stout. The mint does well with keeping the chocolate in check, making the aroma somewhat refreshing, like after-8 is also quite refreshing not sweet and cloying.
flavor is salty roasted malts, only a tiny hint of mint, coconut, a lot of dark chocolate, the end is roasted malty, slightly charred woody, woody, and some salt licorice. the bourbon BA treatment has been extremely successful with the licorice being salty, not sweet, in th end, though, it tastes like a BA imp stout alright, but also borrowing some notes from BA barleywine and BA old ale if there is such a thing. very complex. The bottle is only 6 months old and is already smooth and with lots of complexity - I'm sure this one will age in a very interesting way.
Was crazy expensive at kihoskh (i think 300+ dkk), but i'm happy just having been able to try it. Not outstanding at this price though. You can get just as good at half the price, if you're really really picky.

hazy yellow, offwhite head.
super fres and refreshing pine and grapefruit aroma, crips but a bit mild. really good hop aroma.
flavor is mild, super quenching, pine and grapefruit, a little bit of cardboard, crisp malty note, not sweet. almost have pilsener qualities with its crispness and dryness. omg. this session ale is dangerous, you will get drunk as it goes down soooo easily.

Hoppy and roasted malty aroma ,Flavor is Chocolate, roasted malts, grains, the hops are huge in this one, but it works out very well, with a smooth slightly chocolatey roasted malty base. After a few sips I really liked it.

Roasted malty, dark caramel, aroma.
Flavor is more complex with more roasted malts and chocolate, almost grainy flavor, very chocolatey , i can also taste the tobacco i think, as a stinging bite

Tap at mikkeller , blend 5
Really nice wild ale aroma with a great balance and smoothnes, but retaining the wildness and sourness , fruity, slightly grassy. Woody. Flavor is seriously sour with saison yeasty notes but more like a real sour ale. Very refreshing. The 7% alc. Is very well hidden. No nailpolish. Top of the shelf wild ale by my standards

pours brown, settles very dark brown with a small smooth film head.
Aroma is like a good soft dark chocolate cake. dark chocolate, toasted coconut. aroma is very smooth.
flavor is chocolate , roasted malts, chocolate cookies towards the end, tempered alc. level that is very well hidden, end is slightly roasted malty - enough to make it interesting. very very soft velvety fell and flavor.
there is a cake spicy note i can't place - similar to cinnamon or cardemom or a mix of several spices. cost 230DKK for a 35cl bottle.

When the store opened the beer selection was epic, i think 4 or 5 kentucky breakfast stout variants, many fairly rare or unusual bottles for a Danish supermarket.
Prices were reasonable but not cheap. re-visiting half a year later or more, i found the selection had come a bit down to earth and that many of the really high end bangers were not there anymore.
Still - a way above standard selection for that size of supermarket and a good mix of local, macro, micro, rare, weirdo foreign and international top sellers.
There seem to be something for everyone. A very wide selection.
Probably the highest priority supermarket to visit if you're in valby, kvickly in the shopping centre right at the station would then be second priority if you're a ticker - while meny have some good ones, kvickly seem to prioritize the generally popular ones instead.
At meny, expect to find something like 6 floor to ceiling racks with craft beer and then on the other side of the isle - more beer. At the end, a rack with several shelves of UK beers and some other stuff.
walking distance from valby station. bus 4 right outside.
You can find more interesting beers in beer stores, but for a supermarket, this is really good.

tons of hoppy pine and citrus in the aroma, very hopped. later on some exotic fruits kick in.
flavor is dryish, this licorice like hop taste sometimes found in hazy ipa's, neutral to slightly sweet malts, dry and bitter ending. easy drinking, quenching and quite flavorful. Very NEIPA'ish but also quite dry with pine and grapefruit being the most prominent tastes.

no vintage on the 33cl black waxed bottle with a purple chili on the top right.
They change the reicpe each year so make sure you'r rating is placed correctly.
Aroma is like sweet dark chocolate cake, also some bourbon, a bit of flowers or honey, a lot of roasted malts, the flavors are super smooth and exceptionally well balanced, it's rare that a pastry stout aroma is this good. in the end perhaps a tiny bit too coconut perfumey but that is a subtle detail , in general super great aroma.
pours dark brown to black, settles dark brown to black with a smoot nice looking brown head.
flavor has a bit of chilies bite, chocolate, toffee, roasted malts, instead of a sharp hop and roasted malts driven and coffee driven bitterness towards the end, there is more like a chili pepper driven stingy bite as balance - it's super gentle but certainly there. Works very well, like dark chocolate with chili. Tastes in a way like the most well done hot chocolate with chilies you could possibly imagine. only a bit of coffee and roasted malty notes added. Mouthfeel is thick and smooth. the bottle was close to 300dkk so this is crazy expensive, but I do feel that it is in another league compared to the extremely good imp stouts you can get around 100dkk per small bottle. The chili just works SO good. The velvety smoothness is off the scale
