Amber. Haze. The aroma shows that dry-hopping right away, the lemon, the brett and leather, pear, wine gums. This is really nice - a lot of brett, wood, leather, again those pear, wine gum, and the citrus accents are pronounced. The finish is big, bitter, bright, complex, this one is awesome. Honestly, one of the best beers out of Canada this decade for me.

Dark brown, inky, no head. The aroma is rich, umami, dark chocolate, lots of barrel, a touch of port barrel sort of fruity notes. Rich, lots of dark chocolate, light fruit, and a hit of alcohol, nice barrel character. That's a great barrel and an intense base. That extra bit of dried cherry, vinous notes that really comes from, what, the base? The barrel I'm not familiar with? Excellent.

Pale yellow. Appley, with a touch of vanilla on the nose. This has a lot of vanilla on the palate, with a slightly bitter apple note, and a decent lactic acidity.

Amber, with a slight haze. Thin head. Lots of rye, some piney, resinous hop, with woody, vanilla and chocolatey accents. On the palate, the vanilla stands out a bit more, but the hops and rich toffee malts also show through a fair bit. The rye takes a back seat, but still slides into the finish. Strangely a coffee note both on the nose and the palate but how did that actually get in there. The way that the barrel puts a distinct character on top of a rich well-hopped barley wine is great; the rum was similar in the barrel effect. I have no idea how Numbskull lends itself to high quality treatment, but Alesmith do have an exceptional barrel program and they've figured it out.

Slight haze, amber, with a thin head. This has a nice earthy character, a bit of stone fruit, orange. On the palate, earthy, more of those citrusy, stone fruit notes, maybe lychee, with a bitter, woody, dry finish. I really like this one.

Dark brown. Sort of a lighter, chocolatey on the aroma. Similar, chocolate, a bit towards the dry, touch nutty. There's some dark fruit notes.

Deep purple colour. Big blueberry aroma, that's nice and bright. On the palate, tart, a bit of a woody accent. And more of that big, rich blueberry character. Excellent. That's an absolutely fantastic blueberry character.

It looks a little dull, but it has a really bright hop aroma, both citra and nelson. It's got a decent bitterness, malt stickiness. Nelson and stone fruit expression. Decent, and the sweetness drops off a bit after a couple of sips.
