Grew up in England and developed a taste for English ales. Traveled a lot to Belgium and surrounding countries and grew to appreciate these European styles. Traveled to USA a fair bit, starting in the dark days when it was a beer desert, and then enjoying the flourishing microbrewery scene. Moved in 1994 to Australia which was then a beer desert, so grew to appreciate the excellent Aussie wines and my own homebrew. Now there is a flourishing microbrewery scene in Aus, which is great. I travel a lot to Asia, which was generally grim for beer, although with some interesting pockets of excellence there if you looked hard; but now several countries have good craft beers. I was a RateBeerian for 18 years (Oct 2007 until its demise in 2025), with username Pyobon.

(Can) Black with the tiniest hint of head. Aroma of dark roast malt with hints of booze. Full bodied, smooth, oily with the barest amount of very fine carbonation, yet giving a wonderful mouthfeel. Excellent flavour too. Plenty of toffee sweetness but blended well. There’s a nice boozy element, some good bitterness , some lighter fruity and lactic notes. For a beer at this strength it is dangerously drinkable.

(Can) Pours hazy pale golden with no head. Pleasant aroma of lemon and grapes. Medium bodied with good fine carbonation. Taste is tart and fruity with grapes and lemon. There’s some spice hints. Unusual, refreshing, interesting.

Great atmosphere in a basement. However, the low ceilings and hard walls result in it being rather noisy even when not very busy (I know... if it's too loud, you're too old ;-)). The service is excellent - very helpful and friendly. There was a great range of 22 taps from all over the world. Only 2 or 3 from Denmark. Not sure if there was food. The two beers I tried were very good. It probably isn't expensive by Copenhagen standards, but like everything here I have found it expensive, although very high quality.
