Pint draft at The Nag's Head pub, London, England. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a white head and very good retention. Light pilsner aroma. This tastes more like a sweet lager versus a pilsner. There is a very light pilsner edge to the finish. Otherwise, it's just a nice, sweet lager. Smooth, clean, and slightly sweet. Very easy drinking and very repeatable.Medium body and medium carbonation. Low bitterness.

620 ml bottle from Sainsbury's, London, England. Enjoyed at the Park Plaza Hotel. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a white head and very good retention. Good lacing. Pale lager aroma. Euro pale lager flavor, with light sulfur notes. Not as clean or smooth as most beers. Tastes like a macro Euro lager. Medium body. Medium-light carbonation. Low bitterness. Okay. Looks better than it tastes.

Festival pint draft at the Shipwrights Arms pub in London, England. It is a clear gold color with a small white head and great retention. Faint lager aroma. The color is more of a yellow color than a gold color. Classic pilsner lager flavor profile. Clean and crisp with a little light bitter bite at the finish. Great for summer. It's clean and smooth. Very easy to drink and again perfect for a warm day like today. The best beer I've had here in London so far.

Cask pint draft at Bag O' Nails pub in London, England. It pours a crystal clear amber color with a thick khaki head and excellent retention. Excellent lacing too. This style just isn't that exciting. It's kind of boring. Tastes like a lager with a little bit of bitters added into it. No caramel notes like the a US version. At least this one is colder than the first one I had today. Medium body. Low carbonation. Light bitterness. Overall slightly better than the first bitter, but still nothing very exciting.

Pint draft at the Rose & Crown pub in London, England. Pours a clear dark amber color with a small off-white head and good retention. Vinegar aroma. I don't know what this house ale is but it tastes like a cider that's gone sour. It's bad. It tastes like a combination of vinegar and apple cider that's gone bad. Not good at all. Medium body. Low carbonation. No bitterness. Even the bartender said that's what it's supposed to taste like. Sad.

Pint draft at The Phoenix pub in London, England. Pours a clear gold color with a small white head and good retention. Virtually no aroma. Pretty standard lager aroma with maybe a slight bitterness in the finish. Not as many caramel notes as your typical American ESB. It's "British cold" = not as cold as an American beer. Medium body and medium light carbonation. Low bitterness. OK, but underwhelming.

500 ml bottle from Sainsbury's, London, England. Pours a crystal clear deep orange-bronze color with a beige head and great retention. Good lacing. Lightly bitter caramel malt aroma. The taste follows the nose: Caramel malt flavor with some light bitters in the finish. Better flavor than any of the ordinary bitters I had in England. I'm not getting any of the marmalade flavor. Clean and smooth. Medium body. Medium-light carbonation. Light bitterness.
