A: clear light ruby tinted copper body | thick tan head
A: blood oranges (yes, I'm not sure how that's possible) | floral | brine
F: caster sugar | mixed tang | soapy end
T: crisp | fresh tangerines | cleanser finish
O: refreshing | candy-like | true-to-name... Nice!

Amarilla Gorilla IPA from Smog City Brewing

Rich, super hazy golden and honey coloured body with a glow of light copper and a nice, three centimetre tall slightly off-white head. Aroma of pure hops, with some light honey and apricot fruits, along with a bit of grass - but there is a lot of hops in here. Medium-bodied; Citrusey and definite sugary flavour of the hops and malt up front with a good deal of grass, hay, grain, alcohol, honey and some malt - nicely laced throughout. Aftertaste shows some citrus, a lot of sugars, a good deal of alcohol (seemingly more than 7,8%) and the hop bitterness that you’d expect from a West Coast IPA. Overall, a nice very rich beer with a lot of bitterness, a good deal of apricot and fruit-based sweetness and a pleasant malt backbone throughout. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in [downtown] Los Angeles, California on 23-February-2016 for US$5,49 sampled at home after just returning from Tahiti (for my first beer back home - to get an American West-Coast IPA in my system) in Washington on 25-August-2016.
