I hereby solemny propose a law to be instated by all beergeeks, -amateurs, -lovers, -tasters, - enthusiasts that forthwith the use of the infernal spice, known as coriander, is forbidden for at least the five first years of brewing, and later only to be tolerated by explicit consent of minimum five different accredited beerorganisations. Infringements ought to be sanctioned by denouncement to the international beerpress and public drainpour of the offending brew.

Sampled @ Tucher Bräu am Opernhaus Small, stable and lacey head over foxy amber beer. Caramel, lightly coloured malts, faintly diary. Dry, bit piney and leafy, but again quite some caramel. Feels rather well-bodied; slick, not very carbonated. Initially quite interesting, but in the end it levels average.

Sampled @ Tucher Bräu am Opernhaus Bit lace, if not much head over orangeish yellow beer. Some yeast, malts, and a spritzy, citrussy aroma overlying. Bit chewing gum; again something citrussy, pale malts, white bread. Good carbonation, slick; taste goes away quickly but not abruptly. Quite decent.

Draught @ Tucher Bräu am Opernhaus Dense, medium yellowish head over faintly veiled orange-amber beer. Fresh malts, partly toasted, and lots of yeastfeatures. Sweet malts, little toast in the taste, but yeast quite prominent again. Rather full MF, the yeast helping, as well as the stable head. Soft carbonation, however; Not bad at all. Wonder if it's still made in a real Tucher brewery?

Sampled @ the Elsenwang brewpub. Big thanks to Helena and Hübert for driving us here! Thick-set, creamy, fluffy head over almost black beer. Nutty, ashy, bit roast; sweet dried fruit, overripe bananapeel. Liquorice, ashes, sweet roast, and finally some (C) hops too. Pretty well bodied, viscous but nowhere cloying, whilst some of the other steroid Gusswerk brews are a bit. Despite the strength, quite drinkable!

Sampled @ the Elsenwang brewpub. Big thanks to Helena and Hübert for driving us here! Small if lacey whitish head over dull ochre beer. Islay malt a mile out, as well as some citrus notes creeping through. Again Islay malt in the mouth, whisky, and again a tad citrus/orange. Very syrupy feel, medium to good carbonation which lightens the MF a bit. Any Islay malt aficionado would be satisfied. The beer was nicknamed hidden whisky beer, but I utterly fail to understand the "hidden"...

Sampled @ the Elsenwang brewpub. Big thanks to Helena and Hübert for driving us here! Head fast gone; red-shot brown beer. Liqueurish, red fruit. Or better: red fruitliqueur. Alcohol obvious in the nose. Again syrupy-liqueurish. Bitter grapes, but decent amount of sugar too, albeit masked. Sticky, viscous, syrupy. Not very carbonated. I suppose nobody quaffs Doppelbock, but this is more liqueur than beer.

Sampled @ the Elsenwang brewpub. Big thanks to Helena and Hübert for driving us here! Very dense, utterly stable cream-brown head over jet-black beer. Liquorice, blue grapes, roast, but suggesting quite some sweetness. Liquorice; a light, almost fruity sweetness, ashes, wood. Bit sticky, well-bodied, viscous; good carbonation. It is a bit unidimensional IMHO, but to Austrian standards probably revolutionary.

Draught Thick, pale tan hed, very even over jet-black beer; rings of lace. Roast, bit cigarette ashes. Nose suggests some restsugars, caramel. Roast, woody, dry bitterish finish. Then falling flat. Light body, quite carbonated. Beyond weird. Given blind, I would have immediately assumed drinking Irish stout - and the looks wouldn't help it. But a Dunkel?

Cask Huge, overflowing yellow head (despite being cask, their dispense is messy, and since top-ups are to be tipped, CAMRA would be besides themselves); beer not visible since only tapped in Steine . Nose a bit as from dark honey, bit lightly coloured malts, geen leaves. Sweet malts, finish being lighter, sporting even a light bitterness in the end. Bit of CO² sourishness, whilst warming up, a bit grapejuice flavour appears. Quite slick, but nowhere thick. Well carbonated despite the cask dispense. Though quite OK, the beer misses hops. I find it a bit lame seen the expectations this place exhales. I suspect the Austrian monks are a tad more commercial oriented than their Belgian trappist brethren.
