Bottle 33 cl. Pours a thick, black with a smallish, rough light brown head. Leaves curtain in the glass. Sweet roast aroma with chocolate, vanilla and molasses. Rich, sweet body with more of the above, perhaps a bit more roasty now. But smooth and very drinkable with a warming finish. 091025

Sampled @ the Elsenwang brewpub. Big thanks to Helena and Hübert for driving us here! Very dense, utterly stable cream-brown head over jet-black beer. Liquorice, blue grapes, roast, but suggesting quite some sweetness. Liquorice; a light, almost fruity sweetness, ashes, wood. Bit sticky, well-bodied, viscous; good carbonation. It is a bit unidimensional IMHO, but to Austrian standards probably revolutionary.

Schwarze Farbe mit beiger Schaumkrone. Malziger, röstmalziger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, röstmalzig mit Schokolade und Karamell. Hohe Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, voller Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Almost black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, toast, caramel. Taste is sweet, trending vinous midway through with some mild, dry bitterness at the end. Medium to full-bodied, mild carbonation, oily. Decent.

Typical dark ruby red / brown in the glass with a fast dissipating tan head. Nice very floral nose, lots of caramel, hint of dark fruit cake. Nice and smooth in the mouth, sweet malts, hit of toffee and raisin up front, fading to a bitter, toasted malt flavour. Nice

A bit funky sour, pretty sure it's not as intended but it works a bit anyways. Good body, sweet roast balanced the sourness. Soft mouthfeel, tasted dusty, with a dry aftertaste.
