Massive place with a great waterfront location and plenty of free space on a nice day. Something that can be hard to find in Amsterdam. 10 taps of their own beers and a small selection of bottles. Absolute gem that I’ll keep coming back to when the weather’s nice.

Bottle at home. Oh damn this is pretty great. Super complex from the start. Big butterscotch, oak woody of course, tobacco, caramel, going into deep dark fruity notes behind. Woody all the way and stating more sweet but lingering bitterness in the finish. Alcohol doesn’t come across in a bad way but is boozy and warming in a nice way. Pretty special.

On tap at The Blacksmith, Zaandam. It’s a hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma has a nice yeast character, soft and subdued but there with pepper notes, biscuit, soft citrus, light banana and a touch of cloves. Pretty nice!
