Can. Comptoir Belge. Hazed glowing gold. Decent white foam. Looks well. Nose has peach apricot and mandarin yoghurt. Specifically Longley Farm. Taste has some lactic sweetness but is mostly juicy tart and quite dry. Juicy and refreshing overall. Fruit packed finish. Very nice pastry.

Can. Beer Merchants online. 8.2%. Packaged end of January. Fully hazy custard yellow. Slim sticky film of white. Nose has pineapple flesh and pulp. Well ripened orange. Malts are clean. Maybe a whiff of milky oats. Taste has a slight sweetness with a decent pop of orange and grapefruit pithy bitterness. Drinks slick and smoothie like. Good depth of bitterness to finish.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Birthday gift from the missus. She done good. Beautifully hazy glowing honeyed gold. Glossy white foam is lasting and semi lacing. Smells honeyed, too. Cereal hay and leafy peppery hop. Taste is light sweet with a moderate peppery hop bitterness. Smooth and drinks well under the 7%. Bittersweet finish. Nice one.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Birthday gift from the missus. Tired looking hazy gold. Barely a head. Looks shit. Nose has some wheat and old malt. Taste is sweet with a little bitterness. Dull and flabby. Welbeck can’t brew a decent beer lately.

Bottle picked up at 3F a couple of months ago. Hazed ginger gold. Soppy white foam has some legs. Looks good. I love when a beer is so distinctive. This could only be a 3F beer. Literally smells like being sat in the Droom. Big on the oak. Sweet cognac. Some bright tart grain. Light leathery notes. Tons of fruit and funk overall. Taste is juicy tart and light bitter. Hugely drinkable. Juicy finish with the cognac barrel showing later on. Class.

Can. Beer Merchants online shop. Packaged 2nd January so 4 months old. Pushing it a bit, that. Anyhow. Very light haze on a fairly pale gold. Very slim but lasting, semi lacing white foam. Nose has clean semi sweet malts and decent ripe citrus pithy, piny notes. Not a ton else really. Taste is nicely bitter with just a light malt sweetness. Drinks fine. Bitter finish. Probably a banger fresh. But this ain’t fresh.

Can. Comptoir Belge. Fully hazy yellow. Slim dense whipped egg white swede. Looks well. Nose has some wheat. Nice hit of squeezed sweet orange. Bit of lemon pith and peel. Taste is light sweet with a zingy pop of bitterness. Drinks good for the 6.3%. Touch of twang to finish. The wheaty thing to start was a little off putting but overall it’s a nice hazy.

Can. Comptoir Belge. Carted home via London and Donny because a barrier prick at St Pancras wouldn’t let us through. Cunt. Anyhoo. Murked up orange gold with a nicely soggy lasting white swede. Nose has bitter citrus flesh and zest. Like a ripe angry grapefruit vibe. Nice peachy notes. Some estery character. Pretty clean malt backdrop. Taste is similarly bitter and zesty with a decent amount of sweetness. Good body drinking juice like. Solid bitterness to finish.
