The Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Summer Beer Fest. Hazy amber beer, residual white head. Palate is smooth and low carbonation and slightly viscous. Sweetish orange with mellow bubblegum ester. Trace of lemon. Finishes smooth. Nice flavour but the palate is stodgy.

Cask at the Swan, Hammersmith during yet another rain break at Queens, 15/06/13. Lightly hazed pale golden with a thin white head. Nose is banana, caramel, sugars, trip orange. Taste comprises summer fruit sundae, banana, wheat, light spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dryish finish. Ok for what it is.

Cask @ Haymarket, Edinburgh [070513]
Amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma of soft cloves, soft wheat cereal, bit aromatic, light fruits
Taste as aroma, pale malts, soft fruits, the aromatic clovey flavour is quite subtle which I like
Palate - Thinnish body, fairly oily. Finish as main flavour, soft linger
Overall - Competent if unremarkable hefe

[Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe] Pale amber with a moderate white head and a nice frothy mouthfeel. Banana, clove and yeast, backed up with a decent richness from the Adnams malt. I’m not normally a big fan of wheat beers, but enjoyed this despite the sweetness. A decent attempt at a Kristalweizen - I definitely think it should be classified as that rather than a "mere" wheat ale. Nice to have something different to your run of the mill UK beers.

Half pint, cask by handpump at The Philharmonic. Tiny white layer covering an amber-gold coloured body. Restrained smell of wheat and fruits, lightly spiced. Taste of clove mixed with lemony hops, ripe banana and sweet wheat. Sweet and dry end. Watered palate and a bit anonymous (Liverpool, 09.04.2013).

Cask at The Devonshire Arms in London. Poured in a dimple mug. Copper color with an off-white smear. Spicy aroma. Flavor is very light caramel with something like ginger spice. Might be clove. Might have some citrus. Very pleasant. Finishes almost neutral bitter/sweet wise. Not a typical wit but very nice.

Three hand-pulled pints in Walthamstow on 6 Apr 2013 (small beer choice in the pub). Slight haze to this golden/light brew, on top a fairly thin head of white. Expected more flavour and aroma from a British Wheat beer, lacked the umph of bananas, vanilla I know so well from the German ones. It was OK but no strong taste, hints of wheatiness but subdued and delicate, subtle is a good word to use. I enjoyed it enough to have three pints anyway.

Cask at the Greyhound (JDW), Maidenhead. Clear amber with loose white head; floury aroma; soft floral taste with a grainy wheat-beer-like body; the finish is dry with some light babana and some citrus. Pleasant and refreshing.
