TU MI TURBI, it's an Italian meeting. Fierce and uncompromising, intoxicating and transcendent, here is a double white IPA that leaves no one indifferent.
Her dress is cream and veiled; something to worry you about. Its bitterness is sharp from the top of its 80 IBU. Its fragrance, oscillating between dill and coconut, will transport you far away!

Bottle from Geers. Hazy amber colour, white foam. Lively carbonation. Nose of tropical fruit, taste is dry and grassy, notes of citrus peel but also caramel. Not bad.

Wheat IPA at ’imperial’ (or rather ’double’) alcohol level, apparently hopped with Sorachi Ace. Bottle at Barboteur in Schaarbeek near Brussels. Snow white, lightly lacing, irregularly shaped head over an immediately cloudy orangey amber coloured beer, in which a couple of minuscule but recognizable nubs of hop pellets have been left, sinking to the bottom and then rising up again as the carbon dioxide bubbles cling to them - an issue that could easily have been solved by appropriate filtering... Aroma of grapefruit peel, smoked chicken, brown bread, dried mango, fried egg, melting rubber, mandarin, pink pepper - but not the dill-like effect one would expect from a Sorachi Ace-hopped IPA. Fruity onset, mango, green banana and orange hints, some strawberry perhaps, with an umami-like green olive touch, fairly softly carbonated; caramelly and lightly bready malts (and some soapy wheat indeed), with a somewhat iron-like but otherwise ’natural’ accent to them make up the middle, as the hops announce themselves and develop into a resinous, grapefruit peel- and pink pepper-like spicy bitterness with a long drying effect; again, the typical characteristics of Sorachi Ace, which is quite a unique modern day hop variety altogether, remain understated. Tasty beer for sure, daring especially in the still rather chauvinist Belgian context, but could have come out better if the hops would have been able to spread more of their typical aromas, and if it had been more adequately filtered and not looking so ’untidy’ as a result. Enjoyed it, after all, but this is not really ’finished’ the way it should be.

12.5 cl. draft @ brewery. Deep hazy orange, lacing big white bubbles. Nose is mellow fruity hops, peach & apricot, bit of yeast. Carbonation is very high here same as with #22 & #23. Bubbles are here, carbonation is massive, making the taste a bit hollow, low stone fruit & huge bitter grass, very fizzy, low bitter grain & touch of yeasty grain. Mellow peach & apricot / stone profile is good, grass bitterness is decent, carbonation is way too high. Better than the others, would have been far more pleasant & easier to drink with lower carbonation.I didn’t get the usual expected Sorachi Ace profile which is a real shame since I adore that hop.

No head, colour as of white wine. Very perfumed nose, wheat, flowery. Bitterish in the beginning, going to horsechestnut, and getting ultra-bitter after some time. Astringent, medium bodied at best. Weird. And not really to my taste.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Hazy yellow color, average sized white head. Aroma is wheat, hayish, a bit moldy. Taste malts, bitter, dusty, hayish but unfortunately also a bit stale. Hmm a disappointment.
