Clear deep dark red brown beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: nice, lots of dried fruits, raisins, pretty peated, smoky, caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty sweet, peated, oxidized, lots of dried fruits, sugary, lots of alcohol, soft acidity, earthy, very peated. Aftertaste: lots of alcohol still, sugary, a bit roasted, more alcohol, a little bitter, caramel, more alcohol burn, smoky peated finish, decent.

Bottle. Dark amber color, oak, peat and warming whisky in the aroma. Dried fruit. Malty sweet, alcoholic flavor with dried fruit and dominant peat and iodine. Has thinned due to the oak aging. Great beer nevertheless.

0.33 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', best before May 2021, cellared for two years. Almost clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently smoky-medicinal and a bit fruity aroma of whisky, peat, iodine, molasses and some raisins. Gently sweet, malty, rather smoky-medicinal and slightly fruity taste of molasses, whisky, peat, iodine, some raisins and a touch of wood, followed by a long, gently bitter, rather smoky-medicinal and quite hot-boozy finish. Medium to full body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Extreme and heavy Barley Wine with massive whisky characteristics. Pretty much out of balance but quite enjoyable if you like whisky.

Bodney Towers bottle share. Thanks to Fergus. Hazy reddish-brown beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi-dry, modest fine carbonation. Soft rich malts, a little caramel and cream. Modest fruits underneath. Mellow smoke and peat, very mild. Smooth finish. Some alcohol warmth and spice on the very end. Not bad for a peaty job.
