It was a given that when Sierra Nevada and Boneyard join forces to make a beer, youre gonna get some type of an IPA. Together were brewing an intense West Coast-Style Double IPA heavy with the classic hop character that defines both our beers. It features Mosaic, Simcoe, Centennial and Citra hops in ridiculous amounts, sure to please the hopheads within us all.

A clear light gold, good head of foam.
Smells really piney, one dimensional to my nose.
Pine hoppy flavour, perhaps some light pitted fruit. Toasted malt way back there >>>

16 oz. Can in a trade with Chalmeaux. Nearly crystal clear golden appearance with thin lasting head. Aroma is a big grapefruit, light mango, and subtle pine. The flavor shows bitter grapefruit notes balanced by caramel and light malt. Some notes melon, mango, and lighter pine toward the finish.
Not overly sweet or aggressively bitter. Body is the lighter end of medium. Very nice. Hands down my favorite brew in this years 12 pack.

Can from a mix pack from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is rather citrusly hoppy. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is mostly grapefruit/pine for me. Mild roasty malt backdrop. Gets a bit towards grapefruit zest. Not really harsh, but really hoppy. Incredibly smooth. Just a suggestion of hop burn. Really nicely done.

Pint can from mix pack from Barracks Road Kroger. Golden with a small white head. Cat piss aroma, also pine. Flavor is pine, grapefruit, lemon zest, pledge. Solid.

16 oz can from the mix pack. Aroma is grapefruit, peel of said fruit, peach. Pours nearly clear golden with a one finger off-white head with good retention and some lace. Taste is medium bitter with lots of fruity hop flavor, some pine. Tasty.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Epsom Circle Market. Appearance is clear, pale yellow-orange with light sparkle, 2-finger width foamy white head with good retention and minimal sudsy lacing. Aroma is strong (can smell it from a foot away) tropical fruit, grapefruit, lighter citrus and resin. Taste is strong sweet tropical fruit, citrus, balanced with bittersweet grapefruit. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation and pleasant, more-bitter-than-sweet finish. Overall, this really does burst with hops and mainly the flavorful, aromatic kind vs. a bitter bomb. Very nice.

Poured from can dated 4/26/17 clear golden apple juice with a thin white head. Aromas of light sweet citrus malt floral notes and pine. Taste is a tad malty some fruit comes after and a nice lingering piney finish.

Pint can from the Beer Camp 2017 pack. The beer is a medium-light gold color. Good sized white head, some lacing. The aroma has a big dose of sweet fruitiness. Pretty floral. Big orange, tangerine, papaya, melon, grape, mango, pineapple. Gently zingy lime, grass edge to it. There is a good hit of simple malt sweetness that pushes the fruitiness toward overripe territory but it doesn’t go too far. Taste has mild bitterness, only climbs a touch in the finish even when some pine resin and citrus pith perks up. Lots of hop flavor comes through. It’s a bit on the sweet side but still light enough at 8.2% to avoid any real cloying flavors. Very easy to drink and easy to like. Medium body, some slickness. If you’re deep in the clutches of hop mania, this isn’t going to blow you away, but it is a solid hop can for a wide distribution and from SN.

Tallboy can. Slightly hazy amber, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of pine, pineapple, lime, grapefruit, pale malt. The taste is pineapple, grapefruit, lime, lemon, pale malt. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness, juicy, well balanced. HELL of a good beer! Well done!
