Danke an Scopey. Unscheinbar. 9/9/9/9/11/9

Opaque black beer with a tidy dark tan head. Crisp fresh palate, lots of minerals. Tangy dark malt with dark fruits and sourish whisky. Trace of candy fruits. Crispy finish with a tangy aftertaste and a touch of molasses.

Bottle at Bruce’s Housewarming Party Tasting, London. Bottle 626 of 660. Pours black-brown with a medium brown, creamy head. Chocolate nose with light roast and some mild, burnt wood. Medium sweet flavor, faintly tangy with some light, fruity notes, wood and mild earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately smokey finish with some tangy, wet wood, charcoal and a bit of burnt earth. Not bad.

Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Stores Goring-on-Thames, consumed at home Sunday 29th July 2012 Pours very dark brown, nearly black with a light beige head. Really tangy the whisky cask ageing shows but adds little. Drinks easier than 7.5%. Roasty with a little salty liquorice, ok. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Bottle number 626 at Bruce’s Housewarming Tasting. It pours deep brown, with a thin light tan head. The nose is vinous, cherry, blueberry, jam, roasted malt and caramel. The taste is dark fruit, cherry, blueberry, raisin, tanginess, red grape, roasted malt and jam, with a tangy, slightly tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Flavoursome whether it was meant to be this way or not.
