South Pacific Pale Ale
Kipling was the first UK beer to use the exquisite Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. We brew this as a SMASH (Single Malt and Single Hop) using the heritage Maris Otter as a base malt which works to allow the complex flavour of this hop to really shine through. There is a grassy, grapefruit character on the nose, followed by passionfruit and mango. It finishes with a balanced and thirst-quenching bitterness.

50 cl. bottle @ home โ โExpiredโ according to the bottle which carries the best before date 03.07.2011 โ making this probably 2009 Vintage since if I am not mistaken they take 2 years for their beer โ It has held up great โ Another great rare (here) that I got from the Alvinne beer store / I got this one upon recommendation from Glenn, not so much recommendation as much as the fact that he talked about it as an amazing everyday & session beer and a favourite of his โ A: slightly hazy golden wheat colour with a small white head โ S: sharp, clean, bitter herbal hop smell, very floral with a hint of lemon zest & plenty of grass โ T: bitter lots of sharp bitter herbal & grass hops, hint of floral, Thornbridge yeast, lots of hay, hint of bitter sweet white grapes in the back โ B: sharp, clean, bitter, easy drinking & very sessionable, medium carb โ This is basically a much better version of the Jaipur which I also quite liked, not overly complex but very delicious and drinks away greatly, happy with what was overall my 5th beer from them, not the most impressive of breweries but if you can get this at a decent price, definitely worth checking out /// had this one a couple of more times, phenomenal hop profile, very easy to drink, brilliant, one of the best "IPAโs" out there, increased score from 4.3 to 4.8

Cask at the CP&K. It pours golden yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is floral, citrus, resin and some grass. The taste is citrus pith, grapefruit, floral, honey sweetness, light resin, pine and grass, with a pleasant bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Tasty and very drinkable stuff.

bottle from Waitrose Sidmouth. Rather pale yellow colour, white head. Hoppy aroma, hop-accented flavours. Quite similar to their Jaipur IPA, but not as hoppy. Very nice.

Pours cloudy light golden color with white head. Aromas of tropical fruits and grassy hops. Slightly sweet tropical fruit flavors with some grassy hops and moderate bitterness. Quite different than I was expecting, but in a good way. Medium body with average carbonation.

500 ml bottle, at Olympen, Oslo. ABV 5.2%. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. Brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Nice fruity aroma of Nelson Sauvin hops, notes of white grapes. Distinct hoppy flavour with a solid bitterness, but fairly light bodied. Very good.
