Opaque black pour with a head that is no more than a thin scum of tan. Aroma of freshly unwrapped, fresh, rich chocolate. The flavor is rich chocolate with just a touch of orange. No hop bitterness or flavor. Sweet dessert beer.

Bottle brought from USA. Black coloured with a stable beige head. Nose is massive chocolate, orange peel, roasted malts, bit of coffee. Flavour is dark chocolate, roasted malts, fairly bitter, slightly alcoholic. Reminds me of the Pim’s orange cookies.

Southern tier choklat orange 10% Bottle shared by Mick. Deep black with a tinge of beige foam. Very sweet soft chocolate aroma. Med-full bodied with a soft round carbonation. The taste is dark bitter chocolate, but I did not get much orange (though others said they did). Damn fine though.

Shared 22 oz. bottle. Pours black with a short-lived tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Chocolate and roasted malt dominate the flavor. Some orange is present, but subdued, and it has an artificial taste which is detrimental to the overall flavor. Starts sweet on the tongue and progresses to a more bitter finish. Heavy body, viscous. Overall, it’s pretty good but not great.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a fast-dying light-brown head that leaves a pretty small, ugly lace of light brown on top. Aroma of tons of roasted malt, anise, alcohol, bourbon, light coffee and tons of oranges and especially chocolate - probably like at a 50% cacao ratio. Full-bodied; Super dense chocolate flavour with a big portion of the flavour ranging from oak and soy sauce to oranges and roasted malt, all finishing with a big alcohol warmth and a ton of chocolate - easily the strongest flavour around. Aftertaste shows a deep finish of malt, alcohol, oranges and some oaky dryness, hints of bourbon, and most importantly, a nice complexity - one that I don’t care for too much, but still, I can understand the complexity is surely there. Overall, a very strong beer full of just like the label says - oranges and chocolate. A good imperial stout with a lot of alcohol, somehow even more malt and then, even MORE chocolate and oranges - interesting, even if it isn’t something that I like too much. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 12-July-2015 for US$8,27 sampled at home in Washington on 22-October-2015.

22 oz bottle from Sparrow, 8/25/15. Pours a dark brown color with a thin head. The aroma is pretty much all chocolate candy. The taste follows suit. Quite sweet. The orange is more subtle, but you can find notes of it if you are looking for it. Definitely drinks sweet and a little sticky. There's an almost roasty dryness at the very end of the palate as well. I didn't try it, but I can totally see the ice cream pairing. Good idea!

Bomber. Pours a very dark brown color with a small white head that dies down a bit. A big sugary sweet nose, malty, big oranges, chocolates. The flavor is almost exactly as it describes with huge cocoa, oranges, milky, some sweeter caramel. Interesting. Solid.
