For this Artista Zynergia project – we went to work with Hanssens Artisanaal. Hanses is one of the last remaining lambic blender in Belgium. Oudilis is our interpretation of a “Belgian style Gueuze” with a slight tweak. No two blends will taste the same!
Blend #1 (blended 7/22/2015) – This blend was done using 2 year old lambic ale and a “Berliner Weisse” style ale that was aged & soured in Chardonnay barrels from France for 8 months.

Bottle at the house on Martha’s Vineyard. Picked up via trade. ABV noted at 5.2%. Pours lightly hazed honey-gold with a small, creamy white crown. Lightly sweet with assertive acidity, some lemon squash, lyric bite, a little grass, salt, pale wood, nips of cellar funk. Light to medium bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Cleansing and quenching finish, definitely some lambic/gueuze vibes, a little grass, more lemony tang. Quite robust but not harsh. Great stuff overall.

A hazed golden Gueuze with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity malt with nice ground cherries, lactic acid, Epsom salts, light Brett and horse blanket, very nice and complex. In mouth, a nice sour Gueuze with loads of ground cherries, lactic acid, Epsom salts, light Brett, lemon pulp, light tropical fruits, very nice and complex. On tap at Gnarly Barley.

Bottle thanks to Josh. Pours a hazy gold with small off white head that diminishes that to nothing. The aroma is funky, lemon zest, apple skin, oak. Thin mouth, funky, apple skin, lemon zest, vinous, nice tartness, very nice.
