A commemorative brew celebrating Kalamazoo Brewing Company's 4000th batch. Considered to be a "double-mild" in style, Batch 4000 uses Sterling hops from a small farm in the Willamette Valley, and debuts an exclusive barley-malt, by Breiss Malting. It shows off some characteristics from the traditional English Mild, while doubling up the flavor profile and alcohol content. Brewed in February of 2000, this is beer is a one-time only brew.

bottle thanks to yobdoog, pours hazy amber with a medium light brown head. Sweet malty aroma with a little bit of funk of apple and brown sugar. Very sweet hot cocoa and cream with caramel malt and notes of burn sugar in the finish. This stuff still rocks.

Bottle with thanks to coyotehunter. Pours a hazy orange with little head but lots of bubble clinging to the glass. Smells a little of oranges and malt with no oxidation. Flavor has a bit of butter and papaya. This is fairly sweet and a little sticky. Seems to have lost a bit of its flavor but show little other signs of age.

It was awesome that Tyler and Zac shared this aged beer. Sweet and malty. A hint of oxidation, but it works for the beer. Almost no carbonation. Considerable sugar. It has held up very well after 8 years. Cloudy, muddy brown color.
