Time flies as they say, and we have reached the twentieth edition of our boundary pushing Abstrakt series of beers. It is going to be one for the ages too, as we are going to the metaphorical town on AB20. We have brewed a coffee milk English barley wine, and have blended this with an equally stunning barrel-aged imperial stout. So think liquid tiramisu, backed by a rich and decadent layer of warming alcohol. And much more besides.

Shared 375 ml corked & caged green bottle. ABV is 14.2%. Hazy and very dark brown colour, no head. Aroma of molasses, oak and coffee, boozy. Sweet flavour, distinctly malty with the same elements as the aroma, notes of old sherry.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour with brief, foamy head. Malty, roasted nose with caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, wood and burnt aromas. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with milky coffee, milky chocolate, brown sugar, caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, molasses and a sweet, vinous finish with a mild coffee bitterness. Full body, sweet. Too sweet and unbalanced, but still quite tasty. Nice one.

375ml bottle on multiple occasions. Pours opaque dark magonagy brown with almost no head. Aroma: spicy chocolate, coffee, caramel. Taste: heavy sweet, tiramisu, chocolate, toffee fudge, dried fruits. Medium to full body, carb was MIA, warming boozy finish. These bottles afe mostly fading fast nowadays, it was decent back in the day. It's more towards a barleywine than a American Strong Ale for me

Bottle bought at BD Tower Hill. Boozy coffee and dark fruit aroma. Opaque cola brown. No head. What strikes me first is the molasses, which then develops a fruitiness. Light bitter edge. And a lot of booze. As it warms up creamy chocolate joins the party. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Manages to pack in a lot of flavour without overdoing things.

Bottle, very hard to open. Pours nearly clear very dark brown with almost no head at all. Clear aroma of caramel malt and alcohol, with notes of dried fruit and touches of yeast. Bitter, roasty and boozy onset, with sweetish notes of chocolate, dried fruit, malt, caramel and yeast. Lingering, bitter afteraste with caramellish touches. Warming alcohol presence. Potent but not aggressive. Decent.
