Lynnbrook, named after our founder’s family farm, is a wild Berliner-Style Weisse with raspberries added, resulting in a very refreshing beer presenting with fuchsia color and an aroma reminiscent of picking tart red raspberries growing next to an old, abandoned barn, with the raspberry-lemon aroma giving way to hints of brie and barnyard funkiness. The flavor is absent of any hops or bitterness and instead has initial impression of subtle lemon and yogurt supported by tart, fresh raspberries and underlying lactic sourness. The beer’s dry finish helps cut through some sweetness from the fruit.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into glass. Transparent red with small off-white head. Aroma is acidic, medium body, low carbonation, and very little lacing. Taste is acidic, tart, and some raspberry.

Can. Pour is a light pinkish gold with a thin head and a nose of raspberry seeds (well, that’s my best guess, because it isn’t totally fruit and it isn’t grain either. Kind of an earthy raspberry presence.). A little bit of a fake-ish raspberry aroma creeps in from time to time though. Flavor is crisp and sharp with a tart raspberry drive to it. It’s an eyebrow curler! Sour and yummy yummy!

12 ounce can poured. Bright pink can that very much stands out in a beer cooler. Pours a glowing reddish orange color with a fading pink foam head. One thing I have learned lately, is if you have a pink beer, it’s going to be delicious. Fresh red raspberry aroma. Very tart. Fresh lemon sour. Big raspberry flavor with a sour watermelon like late finish. Love this stuff.

Sample at Giant Eagle Grandview. This beer pours a pinkish-red color with a medium fizzy pinkish-white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Lots of raspberry in the nose along with some spice and wheat. Light-bodied with a tart raspberry character and notes of funky yeast and herbal wheat. The finish is moderately sour with a lingering raspberry aftertaste. Well-executed Berliner Weiss all around.

Reviewing from notes at Great Nebraska Brewing Festival. Aroma is tart and rather raspberry forward but there are some light hints of citrus and wheat. Not as complex as I would prefer, but nice nonetheless. Pours a fairly clear, rosy red with a slightly pink head that is somewhat thin and recedes quickly. No lacing or legs. Flavor is similar to the aroma and is dominated by the raspberry which somewhat overshadows the base beer, but there are some hints of wheat and citrus. Mouthfeel is light bodied with moderate carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice rather fruity Berliner with a refreshing level of acidity that does not become too mouth puckering. I wish a bit more of the base berliner showed thorugh the raspberry though.
