Once a year, homebrewers are encouraged to send us their best brews. This time was the fourth time we invite a homebrewer to join us and Siren for a collaborative brew. Dave Strachan submitted a beautiful coconut Porter and so we decided to play along on that theme. Brewed with maple syrup and aromas.

Bottle massive thanks to Tipple. It pours opaque jet black with a small dense tan head. The aroma is sweet, oily, sticky, massive maple action, toasted coconut, chocolate, dark chocolate bounty, chocolate donuts, waffles, sweet roasted malt and cake. The taste is slick, sweet, oily, maple syrup, chocolate cake, chocolate donuts, warming alcohol, umami, toasted coconut, bounty bar, earthy, chewy and slick oily action with a warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Slick, chewy and intense. Hard not to like.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Tipple. Pours black-brown with a small, foamy tan head. The nose holds cocoa, vanilla, toasted caramel, maple. Medium to big sweet flavour, lots of oily chocolate and maple syrup, coconut, earth. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more of the same. Great stuff.

MBCC 2018. Blue. Blood and Fists session. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Big maple nose. Smooth dark malts, nice dark chocolate. Touch of pine. Big maple follows the nose but it never gets cloying. A little dark fruits before a light finish. Sweet and easy drinking.

Draught at MBCC 2018, blue session.
Black body, with a tiny, dark coffee-colored head.
Lovely aroma of maple syrup, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, nuts, cocoa, slight coffee.
Tastes similar, with some booze, more roast and wood.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes boozy, medium sweet, medium dry, a bit roasty, with dark chocolate, cocoa powder, maple syrup, some coconut, some coffee.
Very tasty. Quite dominant sweet maple notes, while not too much, still leaving room for creamy chocolate and roast. Quite heavy and boozy as the regular version, so not among my favourite Omnipollo stuff, while still really great.

330 ml bottle, shared by Werckmeister, many thanks!
Pitch black, oily body, with a small, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of maple, coconut, nuts, bourbon, melting dark chocolate, vanilla, some dark fruits, slight coffee.
Tastes quite similar, with some more oak and some booze.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, a bit dry, wooden, with tobacco, coffee, cocoa powder, some sweetness.
Tasty. Heavy and rich, with quite a lot of booze, while not too overpowering. Greatly balanced, sweet and roasty notes well dosed, with nice maple and coconut notes and a good, dry roastiness towards the finish. Not among my favourite Omnipollo Imperial Stouts, but another great one.
