Keg at the brewery during RBWG 2015. Cheers! Pours clear yellow with a foamy, white head. Good for style, some dry smoke, lemon rind, light tartness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes clean, refreshing, further lemony bite, dry smoke. Fun one.

Enjoyed on draft at Rapp. A clean and clear golden pour, quick disappearing head. Aroma has some doughy malts, and a hint of smoke. Flavor has a nice gentle touch of smoked malt, some lemon, some melon. Barely a hint of tart. Soft smoke and wheat finish. I wish this style was more common in my local. Quite enjoyable.

Keg at the brewery. Light yellow, cloudy. Gentle smoked malt in the aroma with lemon and oak chips. Sour/sweet bitterness with a salty/savoury note: a little bit of everything. More smoke, like Spanish bean soup, in the aftertaste. A hard one to pin down but enjoyable.

Keg at the brewery, RBWG’15, 20/02/15. Hazed orange amber with beige spotting. Nose is light smoke, lemon rind, smoked malt, straw. Taste comprises pissy citrics, BBQ rub, chipotle notes, biscuit, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi dryinf close with a pissy trace. Solid enough for style.

Growler rushed my way by Homer! Pours quite hazy golden, small off-white head, dissipates fairly quickly with some lacing. Aroma is smoky, woody, lemon. Flavor is light tart, light smoky, lemon and wheat, simple and drinkable but lovely. Medium body, low carbonation. This is a great combo. There should be more of these in the world.

Draft at Rapp 3/16/2015. Cloudy straw color with thin head. Aroma shows a mild citrus, sour wheat and a very faint smoke. The lactic acid helps me get around the smoked malt finish. The acid and the smoke helps with the drinkability. I’m not a fan of smoked beers at all but this brewery really can nail now a variety of style. Another well-made brew.

Enjoyed at the Rapp brewery stop of the rbwg2015 bus tour. Poured up on tap where it exhibits a lightly hazed dull copper body that supports a tiny white head. The aroma offers up inviting rauchy smoke and some oily smoked pork goodness, yes. The taste starts with tartness that stays short of being puckering and is sort of citrusy malt sweetened lemon and lime. It then quickly gets into lovely smooth smokiness that’s firm yet restrained. Great stuff that’s light refreshing and full of interesting flavor notes.

On tap at the brewery during RBWG. Pours a clear orange with no head. The aroma is strong smoke, pepper, and char. Thin mouth with similar flavor to nose, nice earthy malt, very nice.
