22 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Clear dark ruby with 3 fingers of light beige to tan head. Head fades moderately leaving webby lacing. Aromas of chocolate, roast, toast, floral notes. Tastes of big floral hops, chocolate, caramel, roast, some creamy notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation. Solid hopped up Imperial brown.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. Orange glints. Aroma of roasty dark malt and pine. Med body. Flavor of not quite so roasty as expected dark malt and lots of citrus/pine. Orange? Pretty tasty. Happy to not be finding nuts. Has a finish that’s dry and suggests stale coffee, which isn’t bad for me. Good stuff. Different is good.

From bomber to tulip. Aroma is bright and "spritzy", but missing some of the amarillo i had hoped for....and no cat piss. Moderate grass. Deep garnet with a deep tan head that leaves a collar and slight webbing. Overt fusel alcohol taste. Sweet rye with slight spice. Massively sweet.

22 oz bottle purchased at Mega Discount Liquors. Brewed May 2014. The pour is a hazed brown golden with a bit of cordovan along with a smallish light tan head. The aroma is bright pine, floral hops along with malt cocoa and nutty sweetness. The taste is a great balance between the fresh and clean pine floral hops and the base of the cocoa nutty malt soft sweetness. Well executed hoppy brown. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and a dry clean finish. Alcohol heat is present in the back though doesn’t distract too much.

Clear deep red - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crispy. Good malts - caramel, toffee and a trace of nuts. Light dry cream, not that sweet. Good juicy marmalade hops with good pine. Light finish. Piney malty linger. Very drinkable and nicely balanced but I had pegged it as a well hopped amber, kinda suprised to find it is a CDA on rating!

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a large beige head. Nose brings light roast, piney hops, and dry cocoa powder. Flavour is expertly balanced between the roast and hops, with nothing out of proportion. The roast showcases upfront, followed by dry piney hops. Wonderful stuff.

Bomber, shared with no one: bottled May 14, opened and drank July 14 while on holiday in California. Rich and heavy. Poured brown with an autumnal hue, the head a slightly off-white bed of foam. Malty nuttiness aromas hit your nose on opening and pouring the beer, the smell stays and carries. The taste follows the aromas nicely, malts and roasted nut flavours, tempered by a healthy hop bitterness which stops the malts becoming too sweet on the palate. Medium bodied and obviously well made: I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it while overlooking Bilbao Island from my daughters balcony.

Bottle. Thanks Jacob! Pours amber with a creamy head. Caramel, pine and grapefruit. Smooth and dry. Quite some alcohol. Typical Avery. Hops are not very profound!

22oz bomber pours with an amber body that has deep red hues and supports a nice looking tan head. The modest aroma offers up some pine hops and then faint notes of cherry like fruity esters, citrus hops, mango and a sliver of dank garlic goodness. The taste begins with a pleasing mix of sweet soft on the palate malts, pine hoppiness and a fruity mix of grapefruit, tangelo and mango. To midway the hops get a bit more bitter and resiny as a thin yet tasty onion to garlic spicy dankness joins in. This is soft smooth and wonderfully cohesive and it ends with malt sweetness that has a fruity edge to it and slightly drying resiny hop bitterness. Pretty nice for a Black IPA with near zero roastiness.
