Bomber, thanks brenn79. Aroma is roasty, pumpkin pie spices, raisins, molasses, chocolate. Pours an extremely dark brown, near black, with red highlights; has a beige head that falls fairly fast. Taste is sweet, spicy and savory. Has a licorice component to the flavor. Mouthfeel is a little oily, a little creamy; body is medium to full. Excellent pumpkin beer, exceeding my expectations. Addendum: I had to up my aroma score a point. It really opens up after a bit. A nice (above average) meaty pumpkin pie aroma, similar to Pumking, comes out after warming up a bit.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Spec's - Houston Galleria, 10/23/13

Aroma: The nose is sweet and roasty, pumpkin spice, chocolate, brown sugar, and vanilla
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a small brown head and minimal lace
Flavor: The taste is definitely on the sweet side, but it is balanced by the spice and the roast
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft-to-average carbonation, and a lingering, spicy finish
Overall Impression: I found this one to be a solid take on the Pumpkin Porter style, but not an amazing example. It does make for an enjoyable drink.

Bottle. Near black pour with a large tan head that lasts and leaves good lace. Aromas are of mild malt, tobacco, roast, smoke, lightly vegetal, leathery. Spicy: nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon. Mostly clean. Flavors are roasty, smokey, tobacco, cedar, ginger and cinnamon. Medium malt, toasty, lightly warming. Medium bodied, off dry.

Bottle at California Brew fest. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is pie spices. Med body. Flavor is decent pie spice level over darkish roast malt with a touch what seems to be smoke. Good drink.

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate over cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, lightly powdery. In mouth, a sweet fruity chocolate with ginger, cloves, and molasses, very nice. On tap at Downtown Brew fest LV 2013.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a fairly clear, deep reddish brown appearance With a light brown head, strong toasted pumpkin, caramel, big nutmeg, vanilla spicy, apple, banana aroma. Fairly smooth, light veggie, pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, somewhat rich flavor. Not horrible but pretty intense which isn’t surprising.

Howler bought at Liquor Shed in Casper.

A- it pours black, slight hues of red, 1" head of foam, nice lacing.

S- it smells like freshly baked pumpkin pie with all the nice spices, especially nutmeg.

T- tastes spicy, nutmeg, nice authentic tasting pumpkin, some other sweet notes that are, I reckon, brown sugar. Yes, the brown sugar intensifies as my glass warms up. Dang, this is good and the abv is reasonable.

M- great mouthfeel thanks to the medium carbo and body.

O- bring on the autumn season! I’m gonna enjoy this fine brew from Alaskan as long as it is in town! One of the best Pumkins I’ve ever had.
