Tap @ the brewery. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, licorice, chocolate and hops. Nice roasty finish.

Deep mahogany with a one finger khaki head that fades quickly. Nose of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla and roasted nuts. Flavour leans more to the roast side with a dominant nuttiness and a mild bitter chocolate. Medium- creamy mouth with slightly soft carbonation. Just an OK porter.

Draft in Moncton. Deep amber maroon color, tan head. Aroma of cola, cocoa. Taste is slightly sour butterscotch. Hmmm.

Pas mauvaise mais rien de spécial dans cette bière. La torréfaction et le niveau de sucre sont très bien par contre.

500 ml bottle. Pours black with medium whitish head. Aroma of chocolate powder and cereal. Metallic slightly sour taste up front with light acidic coffee notes to follow and slight bitter finish. Not spot on and not one to repeat.

This porter poured a deep black colour with a big, bold, tan coloured head. Light lacing with scents of caramal, coffee, cloves and a faint hint of vanilla. First sip was smooth and flavourful but not as thick a mouthfeel as expected. Flavours of coffee, molassass and burnt brown sugar most prodominant. Finish is extra malty with coffee flavour lingering with a light hop taste. Very nice!

Originally rated October 2009. Bought this one in Edmonston, N.B. when I was on tour with my band. Pours a dark brown with red highlights. The head is big, light brown, creamy, very long lasting and creates thick creamy lacing. The nose is more hoppy than malty. Was expecting lots of burnt malt, but no, lots of hop instead with mild chocolate in the background. Smooth velvet mouthfeel. The taste is pretty mellow. Little hints of dark malt, but not really any coffee, chocolate, nor dark fruits. More yeast and hop than anything else. In the brewers’ log, says he used Liberty and Tettnang hops. Maybe a little chocolate comes out in the finish. A very easy-drinking porter that looks great.

A deep dark porter with a super thick brown head, gushed a bit. In aroma, light chocolate with light moka nites, light herbal notes. In mouth, a lightly sweet porter with light chocolate, moka, a tad herbal and infected, a bit boring.

Dark brown. Nutty, slightly chocolatey aroma. Quite toasty, chocolatey, with a nice kiss of sweetness. Good fudgey balance.
