Spicy, sweet, citrusy, herbal, well balanced, and a dash of alcohol. Top weizenbock. Or Imperial Hefe - an interesting beer that can be understood equally by either name, but in any case is one worth seeking out.

Babyfood banana aroma. Crystal clear amber, thick lasting head. Decidedly less fruity on the palate, with wheat bread taking its place. Alcohol evident Grassy hops are surprisingly assertive. Malty and boozy, hoppy for the style, but kind of neat. Paired well with lemon frosted sugar cookies.

Liter fliptop from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark translucent gold with a huge creamy white head. Aroma is firmly clove and banana. Med + body. Flavor is tangy/strong banana and clove. Wow. Wonder what the Bavarians think of this! Finishing with very strong flavors.

(bottle) cloudy yellow-orange colour with a medium tall tan head; aromas of wheat, spice, later some metal; rich and balanced flavour - excellent

An Imperial Hefeweizen... quite interesting. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a big warm cap that is bubbly and almost creamy, with decent retention and lots of sticky lace. Aromas of bananas with light wheat. Eventually, smells like rusty water with the hop they use. Average wet mouthfeel, medium-bodied, but all without the burn. The taste is milder, with the wheat and some sweetness. Hints of spices and bananas. A nice brew, but not sure a hefeweizen needs to have that much alcohol. Takes away the refreshment of this style.

Poured from the tap. Hazy light yellow with dissipating white head. Yeasty aroma with some spice notes. Very creamy texture with banana on the front along with some alcohol and clove.

Bottle: Poured a dark golden color ale with a large foamy white head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of banana bread with bubblegum notes. Taste is also dominated by banana bread with bubblegum notes and some residual sugar notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Solid offering with great refreshing factor with enough complexity and no apparent alcohol.

Nice soft carbonation. Pours cloudy orange with great lacing, some head. Good for a hefeweizen but needs some work for a weizenbock. Aroma of banana, clove and some spice like thyme or something similar. Finishes sweet and sour with good balance. Some tang in finish as well. Tap at St. Augustine’s.

On tap. Pours a murky yellow with medium head. Typical hefeweizen nose of bananas with spice and floral hints. Thick and full bodied. Flavors of grain, bread, and bananas. Nice.

Nice foggy bright orange body with modest head on top. Aroma of caramel, orange, coriander. Flavour is heavy malt and wheat mixing with an alcoholic finish. Unbalanced, but drinkable. Tasted at 5.5C/42F
