It was Raymond Coumans.
He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.
The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

2023 bottle at home. Ruby pour with a pinkish off-white head. Nose is raspberry, floral notes of rose, citric acidity. Taste is tart, jammy berries, some floral character, dry, tannic acidity, surprisingly clean. Light, fizzy, refreshing. Solid, but nothing extraordinary, funny it took so long to finally try it.

a nice lambic, cantillon doesn’t really make anything that isn’t nice. Nice sourness, nose is of lemon, and citrus, and very tart. overall good, but not spectacular

Aroma of tart fruits, raspberries, sour cherries, barnyard funk, oak. Flavour is quite sour and tart, raspberry, with a dry and lasting pungent sour finish. This is how I like my fruit Lambic: Not this artificial sweetish junk, but rather the real deal. Cantillon, you rock my beer world.

Bottiglia. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di miele, agrumi, lampone, frutti a bacca rossa, arancia rossa, mandarino e sour in secondo piano.

Kicsi, nem túl tartós rózsaszín hab, málnalé szín. Intenzív, nagyon kellemes, málnás, istállós illat. Intenzív málnás savanyúval indít, ami gyorsan visszahúzódik, teret adva a 2 éves lambic istállós, gyümölcsös ízeinek. Lecsngéskor a hordó fás, vaníliás jegyei sejlenek föl. Könnyű, közepesen szénsavas, csak egész picit kesernyés. Isteni finom.

Bottle 0,75ltr: Hazy pink coloured ale thats approach almost an rose wine, like the sourness and the woody taste. Also its got an funny beerlabel.
Still a good amount of raspberry left, sour and tart, some extra funk, wet wood, soft acidity. Very nice.
