Can form the cube 4 pack. Purchased at One Stop Market, Haverhill, MA. Can dated 7/31/2014 stamped on bottom. Very dark black color fast dying tan head. Aroma is earthy, dirty malts with caraway seeds and mild pumpkin.
Flavor starts with the dirty/ earthy charred malt and transitions into a moderate spiced porter. The pumpkin is barely found under the spice and malts but it is there without doubt. Overall, I like both these styles but this just doesn’t sit right. Dirty charred malt and spice.... Meh

1 year old can shared at my Summer Plunder Tasting. Baltic porter - a soft chocolate mild spice and subtle pumpkin flesh. Roasty with earthy spices vanilla, coriander and chocolate. Medium bodied with a fairly smooth mouthfeel. Nice enough but the spices don’t seem to gel with the malts, they kind of clash.

Draft pour at Special Brews. Pours near black with a pumpkin spice aroma. Spice flavor with some pumpkin and light coffee. Interesting beer here. I’m definitely enjoying this.

Can: Toast and pumpkin nose, bready. Mahogany, thick tan head. Lightly sweet coffee, pumpkin, and cinnamon. Nicely done. Definitely baltic porter first with enough pumpkin and spice to make it interesting.

Can. Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours clear dark brown with a beige head. Smells of nutmeg and other spice. Tastes of bitter pumpkin - you can really taste it, nutmeg, and copper.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a rich, three centimetre tall brown head. Aroma of squash, more pumpkin, nuts, earth, bunches of spices and way more squash! Full-bodied; Very rich flavour with a nutty, herbal and very spicey finish showing caramom, canella, nutmeg and even horehound, but the squash depth goes quite a long way in the flavour profile. Aftertaste shows a rich chocolate flavour, some figs and earth and a complex pit fruit sweetness that pairs well with squash. Overall, a nice and relatively interesting beer - it’s not so much of a Baltic Porter as it is a slightly amped up Squash-based beer; Rich and flavourful, but definitely of the herb/spice/veg category here. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 09-February-2014 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington on 11-April-2014.
