Brewed in celebration of Uinta’s 20th Birthday, this American Sour Brown Ale flaunts significant acidity balanced by flavorful Abbey and Chocolate malts and a modest amount of hops. A distinct tartness on the palate combines with notes of toffee and earthiness.

750ml split with the crew. Has an apple sour tone. Slick and sweet. Decent sour tones, but kind of cidery. Doesn’t really come off like a true Belgian at all. The apple tones really take over. Not quite what I’d hoped for, but an OK sour brown.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, clear light brown colour, aroma of barnyard, strawberry jam, dark chocolate and dark berries, flavour of chocolate, dark fruits, caramel and nuts, quite sour with a relativly light sweetness. Nice and pleasant.

Bottle shared at a sour tasting at Noam’s office. Clear deep red with a beige head. Slightly sourish aroma, fruity, with malt, some chocolate, caramel, nutty notes and dark fruits. Sourish flavor, fruity, with a bit of chocolate, dark fruits, caramel, mild lactic hints and a slightly astringent finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Hazy amber, lots of maltiness up front. Vanilla character. Tart. Too. This is more tart brown, but directionless, not bad tasting.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to Kenny, 19/09/13. Hazed dark amber with reddish hues and a moderately sized off white head. Nose is tarte fruits, orange, woody resonance, dark berry fruit tang. Taste comprises tarte berry fruits, light acididc, a little harsh. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with a little too much spritz, tarte and dry in the finale. Ok sour brown but low down the pecking order.

The Last Tasting at Bruce’s palatial pad. Hazy dark amber, good pale cream coloured head. Light crispy palate, a little dryness. Mellow Flemish sourness. Little lactose and light cherry. Underneath are subtle generic fruits. Crisp finish. Not bad.
